It's funny, every time I am around our friends who have kids I am reminded of just how little (if any) maternal instinct I have. Or maybe I do have it and it just feels different than I thought it would, I don't know.

There are maybe 2 people (excluding my Mom) who I think I could trust to tell me the truth about pregnancy. It baffles me that some ( Read more... )

Mine was incredibly easy. I feel bad for women who have a rough time. I was only really sick for a few weeks and the last month was the worse because it was August and incredibly hot and I was fat.

EVERYONE is nice to you that you see! Kind of nice!

Also and I speak from PERSONAL experience... your kid is always different from other kids! I feel no maternal instinct for any baby I have ever seen. Even my friend Nicole's kids had to get older for me to enjoy being around them. I do ohhhh at babies... but adore my own! David's daughter was adorable yesterday but felt nothing that a baby was near me, you know?

Ha ha, you're so funny. Dude, don't feel bad about the maternal instinct thing. I love my kids, I do, and that is what keeps me from strangling them or drop kicking them like a football across the house sometimes. Seriously. But I don't really like other people's kids, especially strangers kids. I mean, obviously my niece and nephews are an exception (sometimes) and my close friends kids, but I think it's because you care about your friends so you then care about their kids. Most most other kids I don't know I'm just "meh" about, or "stfu" about. It's different when it's your own ( ... )

i don't ever want to be a mom either, for the same reasons you have given. that maternal instinct has pretty much been covered since i was 14, thanks to helping raise my 17 year old sister. i love babies and kids a lot, but i just don't want to go through a pregnancy, ever. and i'm totally ok with that.

It's a totally surreal experience, even though it feels like I've been pregnant for an eternity, it still hasn't really hit me! Overall it is amazing & there's been nothing like it in my life ever. But I certainly have no problem telling people about the sucky parts, of which there are plenty! Now that I'm nearing the end, the easy era has passed & I'm starting to get really uncomfortable (mainly back pain & difficulty breathing). I just have to hang in there for 6 more weeks & it will totally have been worth it. I think my pregnancy has been fairly easy compared to most!
