For me it's not so much the lightning and thunder but the wind itself that scares me half to death. We don't have tornado's over here (least not that I'm aware of) but anything about wind force 8 and I'd just as well go hide under the covers.

Much to the amusement of both the men in my house who just look at me with the look "my god, what a wuss" written all over there faces.

I have no comment on the storm chaser part (weather bores me to tears) but also remember the Navy has all kinds of weather related jobs, too. I seem to recall you were thinking that way.

Yep, they do. The bad news is I don't think I'll be able to join up, mostly due to my mental health issues. Can't be on meds for a year prior, and they're really picky if you've had depression. Well, I'm diagnosed as unipolar, which is like NASTY depression, so.... :/

That's kinda what started me on making the switch, cuz if there's a chance I can't go military then I might as well due something I love. And here's the thing - this is something I've been interested in since I was a little girl. And I watch that damn show for 5 minutes, and it just came roaring back like BAM.

Ended up watching 8 eps last night LOL.

And I'm not sure if I'd want to chase, really, but you can be in the field during storm season collecting data, and that's something that sounds beyond amazing to me.

Unfortunately.... I get caught doing that, and I'm not only facing a BCD, but also a felony. I gotta look in to it, see what my options are. Right now I gotta change my major and get my credits transferred in - if I take a single summer class, I'll be a sophomore in the fall.

Either way, they say you gotta be off meds for a year first. And me without one med = nasty. Me without all of em? *shudders*
