eeek!
So, I dunno if you guys know this, but I'm a total weather junkie. This is part of why I'm changing my major BACK to science, since I can't really do anything with Criminal Justice now...
Well, I've always been scared of thunderstorms. Part of this comes from being in several Very Bad Storms. These VBS's? yep, you guessed it - they were the kind that put tornados on the ground. Never got hurt, never had more than property damage, but... You get pulled outta bed in the middle of the night and hear that shit go by... Yeah.
Now, as I've gotten older, I've gotten a lot better. The only time I get scared is when its between midnight and 4, and the house is dark and the lightning is flashing, thunder booming. Really, its just the lightning part I guess.... Cuz Ill stick Rainy Moods on, and I totally sleep like a baby.
Ok, going off topic here.
So. Storms, me being scared of em. The last really severe one I was in (I'm talking twister dropping), I was stuck in traffic, the sky goes dark then green, and I get slammed with a rain wall. Nothing ended up happening, but it was awesome, cuz that was really a turning point cuz I was in those conditions and I didn't basically have a panic attack.
And then, Discovery channel totally had to go and ruin my life by coming up with the show Storm Chasers. Cuz, ya know, the last thing I need is a show to remind me of what I kind of want to get in to (re: the research side of it, not being on tv) and make me want to kick ass in school so I can get into U of M's atmospheric engineering program.
Ok, maybe they didnt ruin my life, but they're definitely gonna ruin my sleep schedule tonight. I've been cleaning and sorting in preparation for getting clothes and redecorating, so I'm on my 4th ep of the night right now. And you gotta realize, ok, yeah this is something I love, but it still scares the shit outta me, and I'm such a visual person I can guarentee this is gonna be popping up in my dreams! *facepalm* Not very good for encouraging me to have restful dreams.
BUT I CANT STOP WATCHING!
I think part of the fun for me is also spotting all the stuff that got overexaggerated or played up since this is a reality show.... I've had a couple friends on them, and after a few nights out with them, you get to hear some damn good stories and you can kinda pick ou what really happened and what didnt. I mean, discovery isnt as bad as other channels, but... It's still a tv show.
I swear to god, though, this show is like pistachios. I just hope I dont get full blown nightmares from it LOL
