I got someone at knitting group to take a couple more photos for me. Ted is an excellent photographer - except of people. The local yarn store owner’s pretty daughter has been doing so much modeling lately for other peoples’ patterns that I suppose it’s not surprising she’s developed an eye for good knitting photos!

I’ve been quiet because we were on vacation; I really need to write up a blog entry on our trip to Hawaii, but the short version is that it was wonderful. I’m not really a tropics person normally, but I loved Hawaii. I always know it’s going to be a good day at work when I get to wear something I’ve made for the first time. No matter what happens at work, I have proof of my competence, right there on my back - “Well, you may have worked at this company for twenty years and know everything about it, but I made some of my clothes!”

#1: Some some reason, during my (very short) drive to work this morning I was suddenly and for no good reason hit by a wave of nostalgia for the front steps of my youth. In this case, ripping out. I’ve been making a sweater for Ted (Ravelry link); it’s knitted form the bottom up and I had finished the whole lower body section and most f the back. Unfortunately, since I’d kept the front stitches on the needles, at some point I didn’t quite get to the spot where I was supposed to turn around, and I found out today ( Read more... )
