Odd moments in the day:

#1: Some some reason, during my (very short) drive to work this morning I was suddenly and for no good reason hit by a wave of nostalgia for the front steps of my youth. I had a thought today about persistence of memory, too. See, a young western friend of mine is spending some time in Toronto, so I've been doing a lot of transit-system navigation help, partly because Toronto was the "big city" of my youth, the place I daydreamed about when I wanted to go to somewhere big, exciting, and different. And then I lived there on work terms as a student, and more recently have spent time there as a tourist or while changing trains. Every subway station we've talked about has brought back a set of memories, mostly of being a young adult exploring different parts of the city ( ... )
