So, we're house owners. (Technically, we're not yet but we've started the process.) It's been an interesting weekend, though, culminating with the fact that we did not get the house at William Ryan.

Dude. Looks like a pretty nice place. The only concern I personally would have would be that they don't use substandard building materials and would be willing to use sustainable where possible and low/no-VOC paints and stains (assuming you don't choose these directly and do the work yourself).

We'll probably be doing the paint ourselves. It'll take awhile, but it'll be worth it. (And, then Aimee can go nuts with her pastels. *grin*)

As for the construction materials, I know I saw somewhere that they do use some good name-brand stuff, and they do some building tricks such as 2x6s in the exterior walls which gives them more room for better insulation. During the process, we get the visit the construction site several times normally, as well as whenever we want on demand and we can bring our own inspector. Such as Aimee's uncle's girlfriend who used to be the final approval inspector for Neuman Homes. :)

Pastels? Are you referring to paint colors or does Aimee do artistic drawing things? And if Aimee does artistic drawing things, why have I never seen any???

*laugh* Paint colors, and they're not really pastels. Actually, I rather like her coloring scheme for her walls (yellowish in the living area, dark blue in the kitchen, etc.) I just tease her by calling them "Aimee Pastels." :)
