I wonder how many people they interviewed who had cogent responses.

I once took a camera and soundkit to Times Sq, a few dozen feet from where he interviewed some people in this clip, and interviewed the teeny boppers outside TRL about their views on nuclear power.

Many of them produced footage as rich as this, some didn't.

I don't see how this is an indication of stupid people at all. I could really give less of a shit if some random person on the street knows another country that starts with the letter U or knows what the "coalition of the willing" is (I might even be inclined to call a lack of knowledge about the coalition of the willing a sign of intelligence) or that Fidel Castro is a singer. This type of knowledge is not required for daily interaction or survival.

If there is supposed to be some indictment on stupidity here, why is the finger not pointing back to the wonderful government schools that trained people in the art?

And before you lose your grip on reality, yes, I point out stupid things people think and do and I take great pride in doing so, but I do not believe people in general are just stupid. Like every empire before ours, the "stupidity" was not natural, it had to be created.

Listing Yugoslavia counts as stupid. Listing Utah counts as stupid. Not realizing the country you live in starts with that letter is also stupid.
