( South Dakota Senator Bill Napoli went so far as to use the phrase 'simple rape,' as in, if it's a simple rape, a woman should not have access to abortion. Only in cases where a raped girl 'was a virgin... was religious... planned on saving her virginity until she was married... was brutalized and raped, sodomized as bad as you can possibly make it, and is impregnated,' should the law make an exception. But the law Napoli helped pass makes no exceptions. )

If men could get pregnant, there would be no issue whatsoever. Abortions would be free, and there'd be pool tables and beer in the clinic waiting room.

Also, she was the leading female anarchist of the late 19th/early 20th century (or should that be centuries?). She inspired Leon Czolgosz to assassinate President McKinley. Not directly, but he was influenced by her writings/speeches.

I wish you'd stop using the term 'dumbasses'. While these views on abortion are faulty in our opinions, they are entitled to their personal beliefs. The dumbasses are the ones that elect them to office; 'we get what we deserve' (I don't know who wrote THAT quote, but I'm sure we're familiar with it).

I agree that these new laws are eroding our civil liberties. I also agree that killing a seed is somewhat disrespectful toward the fetus---after all, it's selfish reasons that ultimately lead to most abortions, yes? MOST? Yeah, there's rape and incest, but most are done for selfish reasons.

That's another topic all together.

Individual's rights = Thumbs up
Politicians circumventing the civil rights for personal religious reasons = Thumbs down...way down.

You say what you want in your journal; I'll say what I want in mine. As long as I'm not spilling other people's dirty secrets, this should be no problem.

What is it with you sisters? ;). But seriously, there's a couple of bugs up some asses.

Abortion IS mostly a selfish act, where a person decides bringing life into the world is an inconvenience, whether because of the financial burden or whatever. I am not for laws outlawing abortions, but personally, at this juncture, I wouldn't want to have my girlfriend or wife do it. That's my business...just like you might not.

But the point still remains that most abortions are, for all intents and purposes, a selfish act.
