*bounces in* Hullo, everybody! I'm Pippi Longstocking, but I'm sure that you've heard of me, what with all the books and movies based on my adventures. *grins happily* Have any of you ever been on a ship? I grew up on a ship, you know, with my father Captain Longstocking. I'm sure someone here has to have heard of him. He's a cannibal king now, ( Read more... )

Good day to you, Miss Longstocking, and welcome. Born to the sea, are you? Most impressive.

Thank you. Yes I was. Well, I was raised on my father's ship. I never knew my mother.

I've been on a ship! I was the captain of it, cause I killed the old captain. Have you ever been to the Neverland? Can I have some pancakes?

(Typist: Ee! Pippi! And ee, someone for Peter to play with!)

You captained your own ship? Ooo. Nifty! I'd like to captain my own ship someday.

Neverland? I don't think so . . . I've been all over the world, though! What's it like there?

I'll heat up a couple for you! *goes to get them*

It's awfully difficult to be a captain unless you really know what you're doing. If you don't, none of the crew will listen to you and nothing will work right.

My crew listened to me, of course.

Neverland is the best place in the whole world. There are pirates and Indians and mermaids and crocodiles and fairies and wild animals and it's all different seasons all at the same time and you can't go anywhere without bumping into an adventure.

Thank you! Mm... *rubs his belly*

*beams* Oh, I know all about being a captain! My father is one, as I said, and I used to watch him work all day long. Sometimes he would let me play at being captain and his crew and I loved each other.

Really? I think I'd like to go to this Neverland sometime. It sounds wonderful!

*gives him a plate with some pancakes and hands him a fork and knife*

*vague* I've been on a boat... Which is a ship, I suppose... And I think I like them. Quite. Welcome, Pippi.

Oh, no, boats and ships have their differences! A ship is a lot bigger, for starters. I'd be surprised if anyone didn't like being on a ship - it's so wonderful!

Thank you. I'm glad to be here.

Well, I think it was a ship, but ships and boats are both... contained. And you can tell which way the wind is blowing. Usually.

My typist is quite excited to see you, Miss Longstocking. She says she was you once for "Halloween"... whatever that means.

My name is Elphaba Thropp. Welcome to the community.

*peers intently* What a wonderful color you are! Likewise, my typist seems pretty happy that you've commented.

Would you like a pancake? ^_^

*shocked* You... you like it? You're the first child I've ever met who hasn't screamed and run away in terror... Actually, most adults do that as well.

I... erm... yes, thank you. A pancake would be quite nice.

*blinks* Why would I be afraid? You're quite nice.

*beams* I'll warm up some pancakes, then!
