no longer alone...?

Hello. My name is Ariadne. I... well I was a princess; I guess I'm probably not anymore. It was nice while it lasted. Along with everything else that was ever nice in my life, though, it didn't last long. Eheu... (My typist can't speak Greek, and for some reason assumes that Latin will do. It will not.)

My typist is having an unusual reaction to your mention of Catullus 64. Apparently it pleases her greatly.

Yay~ Hurrah for AS level Latin! Catullus was such a moody/witty/melodramatic dude, and I do love him for it.
[/typist]

Well, anyway, hello Mr Fogg. I see by your username that you claim to be a man who keeps his promises, unlike... well, most of your sex, I believe. If your claim is true, and I'm not saying I believe it is, then you have my respect.

[Typist: I love Catullus with a passion. Adore him.]

A gentleman always keeps his promises, Miss Ariadne, and performs his duty to his utmost. Believe what you wish about me, but the truth is that I never make promises I cannot keep.

I say! Dreadfully caddish thing to do. I always did think Theseus sounded a hopeless bounder. *frowns* I'd be furious if anyone did that to any of my sisters. Though, knowing my sisters, they'd probably be too scared to.

I'm Mike Jackson. Pleased to meet you, Miss Aridne.

I am certainly furious about it!! And very very upset. Several times I considered throwing myself off the cliff, you know, but then who would attend to the burial rites and everything...?

Uh, anyway... Thank you for your sympathy, Mr Jackson. *smiles* I'm honestly pleased to meet you too, I think. You seem to be a very honourable man. Of course, appearances can be disastrously deceptive...

typist: Oops, well there's me first "sorry, logged in wrong account!!" moment ^^;;

*scowls* No, you mustn't do that. That's the worst thing to do. There won't have any chances then.

You're welcome. *stuffs hands in pockets* And thanks. 'Course you're right. You can tell a lot from what a fellow thinks is funny, though, if you ask me.

Typist: :) Don't worry about it. And I'm sorry about Mike. He's a very sweet lad, he's just... terminally bad with strong emotion.

Throw yourself off a cliff? Oh, Comrade Ariadne! Cease to even contemplate such a thing! After all, it's a long way tp fall, and you'll have to think about hitting the ground all the way down. It would be dreadful. There will be no ladies throwing themselves off cliffs on my watch. Oh, goodness, no.

Who next, Oedipus?!
Hello, Ariadne. Allow me to introduce myself. I'm Lysistrate of Athens. I'm afraid that my own struggles with Athenian men were quite different from yours, so I can't offer any helpful advice.
My typist would like to suggest that "living well is the best revenge" is applicable in this situation. *looks at androcknroll* It sounds good to me.

Hello, a pleasure to meet you.

"living well is the best revenge"... *ponders* But what about the beautiful angst?? That is... thank you, it's something to think about........

I wouldn't bother at all with the old gods, they're rather silly, except for darling Eris of course. Now us, the new gods, we're rather helpful and we definantly will care about you! That's what we're here for. *flashes a smile*

And oh, I totally agree with your opinion of men. Dreadful lot, most of the time.

Men. Yes. Ugh.

I could never desert my gods, especially as some of them do seem to be very nice indeed 'in person', as it were. Purely out of curiosity though, what exactly do you do as a new god(dess)?

Oh, we do everything nowadays really. I myself control all media oriented things, which seems to be most of the world today.

Oh, there's nothing wrong with men...

They're rather nice, actually. Well, the majority of them. You just have to know the right sort, yeah?
