DF Theatre company?

The idea of a theatrical company has come up once or twice here, as some of you may already know. Well, I rather like the idea, so I was wondering just who else might be interested in such a thing. We would need actors, of course, which I'm sure would be no trouble here, given the extraordinarily dramatic tendencies of many here, and a director or ( Read more... )

*innocently* Didn't I see a theater somewhere in the DF mansion? I'm so sure I did...

I'd be willing to do almost anything you need me for. My typist seems to want me to work "backstage"... she keeps squealing "OMG they need a STAGE MANAGER!!!!"... whatever that means.

We will, of course, need someone to keep the backstage aspect of things running smoothly. If you are interested in backstage work-- or, at least, if your typist can harangue you into it, as they do seem to be good at that sort of thing-- would you be interested in the position of stage manager, or would you prefer to be a stagehand?

I do think that if I said "no" my typist would do something... rather horrible. And I do need her to do my typing, so of course. I would love to be a stage manager. Who knows, I might end up enjoying it. At least this way I'll maybe understand why she likes it so much.

Typist: YAAAAAYYYYY!!! OMGSQUEE this is so exciting!!!!

Do you intend to audition, then, Miss . . . Sarah, is it?

I'm trying to keep track, you see. (Well, making my secretary try to, anyhow.) It'll keep the chaos to a minimum later.

*clears throat* I shall act, of course, my good man.

Thou shalt not perform my play. I forbid it.

I wonder, who would play the title role?

...*glowerly* And would the good Courfeyrac again assume the role of my mother?

*eyes light up, but she speaks demurely* Oh, I... I would be quite grateful, sir, for the opportunity to show Dorian what he lost the world that I haven't, perhaps, entirely lost my ability...

That is to say, I would love to, sir. Thank you.

Wonderful! We will, of course, need to hold auditions and suchlike, but if what I once heard of your talents was not, in fact, an exaggeration, that won't be a problem at all, will it?

*glows* I am good at auditions, sir. Truly I am. I - well, I don't like to be so vain as I fear I'm beginning to sound, but I am a good actress.

Why worry about vanity, Miss Vane? It is not such a dreadful thing, particularly in an actress.

*cough*

Yes, well, we'll have to hold auditions, won't we? We'll see what sort of role you fit then. It comes down to the most minute details, you know-- the slightest variance of gesture, the smallest differences in vocal quality, and so on . . . but I'm sure you'll be just splendid. Really. *shudder*
