Here is a little girl of 7, toying with an old doll on the stairs of the Mansion.  She's talking to herself, or to her toys, who knows? Today is her birthday, but she hasn't fussed about it.

Her auntie (is she her mummy ?  she forgets sometimes), is away more and more on mysterious errands, and her best friend is old, now, as are the boys she used ( Read more... )

Richard walks in, initially looking thoughtful, almost troubled. But he sees Sophie and smiles a bit, the expression easing. "Good day, Miss Sophie. How are you?"

She looks up and grins. "Mr. Carstone! It has been a long time!" And forgetting about the doll, which goes clattering down the stairs with clicetyclangs, she stands to give him a bit of a curtsey that might end up in a hug.

"So it has!" he laughs, returning the hug. "I hope you've been well."

"I'm alright, really, sir," she says with a small smile, even if her eyes are lying. "And you?"

Sandor is just limping around like the stubborn, bull-headed idiot he is. And limps inside, painfully, jaw tight and upset at the Imp being here. Bastard.

Still busy dressing the doll. It's serious business. Besides, the doll has a date, maybe, with the teddy bear.

That's just freaking adorable. Sandor is not freaking adorable, though, and nearly trips over something of Sophie's, catching himself on the couch with a definitely pained noise. Ow.

She looks up. ------ and shrieks, before she's able to put both her hands on her mouth to try and muffle it - but it was likely long, and loud.

That man is scary looking.

Cleeg has been running all day.

Not literally running, but fleeing various locales because he does not want to talk and he does not want to see people who are going to make the dull ache in his belly worse. And there are a lot of them.

However, he has to come in eventually, head and shoulders down, more weary than he's been in a while and trying not to let his head go in circles.

Sophie catches sight of him and runs down the stairs, almost tripping in the process and falling on her face.

"UNCLE TYELKO!!!!" And here's a leg hug for you.

ALSKDJFSLKJDF - oh.

He staggers a little and tries to catch her. "--Sophie?"

"You remember me, you remember me!!!!" She's holding on to his leg, but if he tries to scoop her up, she'll let her be, and she'll give him a hug. "Where were you? I missed you...."

Moriarty is rather lost in thought at the moment, which might explain why he nearly trips over Sophie. Well, it's either that, or he's just really clumsy...

"Oh! I'm so sorry, young lady! You are...Sophie, correct? I believe I met your governess soon after first arriving here..."

She squeals, litterally, when this happens, and is too busy crying helplessly to give an appropriate answer.

Sorry, James. She's just been somewhat traumatized by Sandor Clegane, and now, she's jumpy.

Moriarty has always prided himself on being able to communicate well. That being said, he is a bit awkward and uncomfortable around small children.

"Oh, dear! There's no reason to cry, Miss. You seem to be quite alright. Here..."

He digs in his coat pocket, handing Sophie a handkerchief.

She takes it, and blows her nose loudly and inelegantly - she's all red from the crying, and she looks at him with confused eyes.

"-- Sir?"
