Here is a little girl of 7, toying with an old doll on the stairs of the Mansion.  She's talking to herself, or to her toys, who knows? Today is her birthday, but she hasn't fussed about it.

Her auntie (is she her mummy ?  she forgets sometimes), is away more and more on mysterious errands, and her best friend is old, now, as are the boys she used ( Read more... )

Moriarty is rather lost in thought at the moment, which might explain why he nearly trips over Sophie. Well, it's either that, or he's just really clumsy...

"Oh! I'm so sorry, young lady! You are...Sophie, correct? I believe I met your governess soon after first arriving here..."

She squeals, litterally, when this happens, and is too busy crying helplessly to give an appropriate answer.

Sorry, James. She's just been somewhat traumatized by Sandor Clegane, and now, she's jumpy.

Moriarty has always prided himself on being able to communicate well. That being said, he is a bit awkward and uncomfortable around small children.

"Oh, dear! There's no reason to cry, Miss. You seem to be quite alright. Here..."

He digs in his coat pocket, handing Sophie a handkerchief.

She takes it, and blows her nose loudly and inelegantly - she's all red from the crying, and she looks at him with confused eyes.

"-- Sir?"

"Please don't be mean to me?"

It has nothing to do with you, Moriarty. She's just a very lonely little girl who feels abandonned right now, and who had the most terrifying encounter, like, ever, srsly.

... "I'm sorry, sir, you have me mistake for someone else. My name is Sophie Reichert."

And here is a panicky little girl. Sugar never gave her last name, for obvious reasons of fugitive status, although perhaps Moriarty's detective skills came to contribution.

And the typist doesn't mind at all. ^__^

"Ah, I am sorry. Miss Reichert, then."

And this has less to do with Moriarty's skills of observation than his typist's forgetfulness regarding their introduction.

OOC: Sorry!!! No godmodding (or anything of that sort) intended!
