Not really an introduction

May 04, 2009 19:23

Here is a little girl of 7, toying with an old doll on the stairs of the Mansion.  She's talking to herself, or to her toys, who knows? Today is her birthday, but she hasn't fussed about it.

Her auntie (is she her mummy ?  she forgets sometimes), is away more and more on mysterious errands, and her best friend is old, now, as are the boys she used to play with sometimes.  And it's been a long time since she saw her Papa Gaheris, and she misses Uncle Cal. Uncle Niko said he went somewhere, but she doesn't believe that. And she wants to see her many uncles, and she wishes there were other children around.

Sometimes she has vague memories of London, of the tramways, of Big Ben, and of a mother who didn't remember having a daughter, of a father who barely bothered taking an interest in who she was.  She remembers the terrifying new nurse, and the flight with Sugar, and although it is all very odd, she regrets nothing.

However, she's lonely, bored, and feeling somewhat abandoned, even if Auntie Kalush is very sweet to her.  Come say hello to a solitary birthday girl!

So, not really an introduction, since this is Sophie Rackham from The Crimson Petal and the White, and that she's been around on Sugar's journal. I just thought I'd give her her own journal for her birthday. Same typist, new eljay. Yay? :D
