"It is a canvas model of the cranium and the cervical-vertebral appendage of the Beast Glatisant," Palomides replies promptly as he sits. Then, "By golly, is this not Dunlothian?"
"It was all to buck up King Pellinore, obviously. The poor fellow was pining for his Piggy, you see--that would be the King of Flanders's daughter--and Sir Grummore and I had thought that a return to his habitual diversions might lift his spirits. But then the beastly Beast got flirtatious--" He tries to look around Sagramore. "Where is Grum? Back in Dunlothian? And who are you?"
He may find himself, as he arises, being poked by a very small, dark haired little girl, beaming at him. "You're wearing silly clothes," she says firmly, a moment before her mother appears, looking concerned. "Oh dear...are you all right? I'm sorry if she was bothering you."
"Bothering! But this is craftsmanship. See--" he holds out the edge of his costume for the little girl's perusal; there are buttons stitched awkwardly to the fabric to attach his costume to that of his nether half. "Yours truly has sewed these on himself!"
Arianna examines them with great fascination, touches one, and looks up at him with a very, very big smile. "Really? You made it yourself?" She asks incredulously.
His eyes light up; he scrambles to his feet and bows. The snake head falls down in front of his face. "Queen Morgause! Also not at home in Dunlothian?"
