Firekeeper takes one look at that, sits down on the floor, and just staaaaares.

We will assume he has been poked by Sagramore and has gotten up by now, and he staaaaaaares back. "Well?"

She doesn't even move, wolfish eyes slightly narrowed and still staaaaaring. "Are you man?"

[sir_palomides]

Trying, "Yes?"

[ofthewildwolves]

"Huh," she says, a little skeptically. "Why -" She stops, shakes her head, wrinkles her nose, and turns in a little circle on the floor before sitting back again and examining him, thoroughly disturbed.

"There is no need for that!" he exclaims, pulling the snaky bit off of his head and the leopardy bit off of his legs. "It was a very good costume, but not that convincing in its bifurcated state!"

[ofthewildwolves]

All becomes very clear and she flushes a little. "Oh," she says simply, and decides to drop the subject.

Costumes are so confusing.

She tilts her head at him and asks with her usual persistent curiosity, "Why wearing it?"

"Yours truly was the torso of an imitation Beast Glatisant," he explains. It's starting to sound like a stupid story, the more often he tells it.

Again with the nose wrinkle. "The beast whatsit?"

[sir_palomides]

"Glatisant--the Questing Beast. She hasn't shown her hindquarters in this region?"

[ofthewildwolves]

"Never heard of it," Firekeeper says, tersely.

[sir_palomides]

"Botheration. There's no hope of getting Pellinore here, then."

[ofthewildwolves]

She tilts her head. "Who's he?"

[sir_palomides]

"King Pellinore--a dear friend of yours truly, and all but welded to the Questing Beast." He bows. "Palomides, at your service."

[ofthewildwolves]

This is...a bit of confusion. "Why would you do that?"

"Do what?"
