Tacked up in the mansion, somewhere on a wall, is a note written in a lightly shaky pink script, on a piece of off-white glittery stationery. The note reads:

There are many creatures in the world which are surprising to come across. Blood-suckers, were-things, winged chicks, people with fins are a few. Among you now is a very strange creature.

*laughs a bit, amused by the note and the glitter. She calls out, knowing the author of the note is near* You don't need to hide; I have no reason to hurt one of your kind.

It's probably true, what this woman is saying. No one really wants to hurt the Mab. But everyone wants the Mab. Everyone wants to see the Mab, and any other Mabs.

So Mab [our heroine Mab] stays hidden for now, but she is ever-alert.

[wonderfulboy]

*can't read, but can tell that there's a fairy around* Come out and play, silly!

[sugarspunthing]

Mab, upon hearing the command in the boy's voice, steps out carefully from behind a book. She crosses her arms and looks up at him through slanted poison-green eyes.

"Play? Play what? Why would I ever want to do that?" she spits out.

[wonderfulboy]

Cause it's fun!

[sugarspunthing]

She pouts. "No, no it's not." Mab pauses, tilting her head at him. "Who are you anyway? You're not even a biscuit. You're just a little kid."

[misselthrush]

*reads the note, and narrows her eyes* How curious. What is a Mab, I wonder?

[sugarspunthing]

Mab flies up to the girl in a whirlwind of pink stars and taps her twice on the nose with a very tiny finger.

"I'm a Mab! What are you, stupid?"

[misselthrush]

Mary is momentarily stunned by the appearance of this strange creature, but not so much that she cannot direct a sour look in Mab's direction and sputter out a "N-no!"

[sugarspunthing]

"Well that's good news," Mab says, making her way over to the girl's shoulder where she stops and does a very showy-offy pirouette. "So. What's your name? -- not that I really care or anything," she says, examining an immaculate fingernail to show her unconcern.

[fnick]

Fang reads rather feminine-looking note with slight amusion. "Forgot the birdkids... Angel would get a kick out of this." He muses to himself.

[fallen_april]

April blinks at the paper for a moment then glances around hopefully.

Will's with his Dad today, which is nice, since April's starting to feel the effects of pregnancy. Grar. Four months to go...
