We work in little oatmeal-colored cubicles, typing words onto screen and deleting words from screens.
I know you have days you'd rather not have way more often that I do, but it's been ...12...maybe 16 years since I had a job that allowed me to believe I was making the world a better place.
Normal is only a setting on the washer.

No words of wisdom here. My father had to quit working the emergency room after I was born; he couldn't deal with treating young children anymore. You are not alone.

But...if you don't work on the edge, you forget about it a lot more. And...you brought him back. Think of what it would be like to not have the honed skills.

Remember, what you look at is where you go--don't let your attention cause a crash.

I once worked at a ranch with a lot of horses, and one of my jobs was to hold them still while this lady stitched them up. She was really good at it. Stitching up a cut up horse under less than ideal circumstances takes some real fortitude. But I saw her faint when her little brother got two stitches.
