sadly, I might have gotten some sleep if I hadn't written this post. Oh, well.

Trouble sleeping. :P I did my day backwards, enjoying a long lie-in, listening to some awesome podfic, and then breaking my resolution against going in to work on a Sunday. The workweek just goes better when I spend some time there Sundays, and I was at loose ends anyway ( Read more... )

my favorite parts of elementary (actually, probably the only parts i liked) were the bits where sherlock made it very obvious how much he cares about joan and how badly he wanted her back, and what damage he'd do to mycroft if something happened to her. i don't ship them either - and i don't think the show does, which i love - but their friendship is just fabulous. the fact that they can be a straight man and a straight woman who live together and have had some fairly intimate conversations (in the sense that he's opened up to her in a way i don't think he's ever opened up to anyone) and still keep their relationship platonic is really, really wonderful.

i have no theories as to why mycroft is so desperate to get sherlock back to london, but also i'm not sure i care.

i'm so sorry about your non-profit! that sucks. :(

Thanks! It does suck. But now it's looking like we'll be handing off our programming to another organization, which makes things a little better. Still looking for a job, though, which always sucks. :(

and i don't think the show does, which i love

Same here! It would be a very different show with shipping going on, probably not nearly as interesting.

I'm glad your sister worked _something_ out for moving the sofa and such.

I can't explain the flakiness, OR the number of people who call you up to complain that they don't like the terms of your Craigslist ad. Someone else mentioned that recently, and I'm kind of shocked. If you don't like what's offered, you move on. You don't contact the person to berate them!

So sorry about your non-profit, adn where it's heading. I hope the job search goes well. *hugs*

Thank you! *hugs* It's looking like our programming will be taken up by another organization, so at least our students won't be missing out.

The hostile e-mails were so strange. Craigslist seems to have added features that make responding to ads way more convenient, so maybe people are taking advantage of the opportunity to be jerks. I'm mainly shocked that people thought the compensation was unfair at all, given how easy and quick the gig was. Meet someone, watch them load furniture onto your truck, drive ten minutes, watch them unload your truck, drive away with $20. If I had a truck, I'd have been on that.

I'm sorry to hear about your job! That's a shame the non-profit is closing. I hope something else comes up soon!

Thanks! I'm sad about the non-profit (and my job!) too. But it looks like our programming will live on through another organization, so that's a win.
