Give Me Your Art! (and rambling)

Aug 29, 2007 15:11

First of all: suggest an artist or a particular work of art that you love. Please? It would make me happy.

Secondly: a post! In which I ramble on and on about art, what I need to do in the next week, clothing and music.

Cut for your own sanity. )

music, art, clothes, random

While I'm a fan of lots of art... Art around the home is an odd thing. I've got some up around the house, two LA Williams pieces I got at last DragonCon, two Samurai Jack pieces. Definitely pondering more art from Con, though I also want to have some of the photographs I've taken put up about the house.

In the end, well its all in personal taste. What don't you mind seeing day in and out. Though... I must say Brom does have some good stuff!

I really love those Samurai Jack pieces. Are those taken in your house? If so -love!- I really adore your lighting fixtures.

It is indeed my house, which a very gay fellow (aka the previous owner) put up all the lighting in.

I'm not sure if I could find prints of his stuff, but I love his style too. His linework is just so clean, but it really conveys a lot of shape.

www.allposters.com makes me a happy woman. As for artists - I'm a big photography buff - you go through my apartment and just about every single wall has a photo or 10. Another really good idea - if you want i can share a pic - is to hang a tapestry from one wall. I've got one behind my dining room because it just accents that wall.

A particular piece of art I absolutely love is found if you type in Italy under photography i'd link but the website is being stupid. :) good luck!

I'll check them out when I start looking at buying some stuff. The only reason I was considering art.com is the framing service, you know?

totally understand - but allposters.com does framing as well. they show you cost of print and 3-4 different choices of framing/matting styles plus you can always customize too.

Before I moved I had a duct tape mudflap girl on my door. And pictures of mermaids, butterflies, Matt Hughes, and neurons above my bed. I'm not sure how much help I can be.

Cpt does not know from Art. Assumes anything he likes must be trash.

I'd be interested to see what you like. I don't think that any art is trash, to be honest. Link me to something!

Hmmm... I was going to say David Cherry, but his official website is ridiculously skimpy ( ... )
