Which is so funny, because I would never in a million years have pegged you for a fan of art nouveau. I always equate the flowing lines and organic quality of the art with a very feminine archetype for some reason and very...not you.
I got sucked into Art Nouveau vis a vis Joe Quesada. He did a little comic called Ninjak (I know, I know, cheesy) which was drawn very much in the A.N. style. Then that comic went under, and I eventually got away from them (mostly). But a little while ago, I got dragged back into comics, and started remembering my old glory years. And started looking up old artists. I ran into Mucha. And it's been sleepover parties, pillow fights, and talking about boys ever since. ;)
Have you been up to the High Museum since they brought the Treasures of the Louvre exhibit to town? I desperately want to go. We should schedule a road trip sometime.
I love folk art from around the world, particularly art expressing superstitious and/or religious belief. I'm particularly fond of Day of the Dead items. There's a store I stumbled across in Austin TX that is full of awesome.
flip around her site. i hate that all her old stuff is not shown on there, i have some older pieces that you can't even see anymore (cept maybe on her postcard reprints). still looking for one called Dragon Moon. and i missed getting Chance Encounter, dammit. oh well, there's always ebay.

PS--good luck with the redecorating!

For classical art I'm really fond of, I have always loved Vermeer's work. The quality of light and the way it plays across fabric just astounds me.

Marc Chagall
Since you liked Caravaggio's Judith, you might like Artemisia Gentileschi, one of the better known female Renaissance painters.
I like most anything by Mark Rothko, though it has a largely decorative feel.
This made me think of you.
I can do a lot more, I'm sure. But this kitty needs to go to bed.
