Been a while since I've written here! When I was off on my summer "intermission", I was writing in a journal almost every day, but stopped posting here. That journal eventually ran (with some formatting) to over 34,000 words on 72 pages!

A last farewell to someone...
We are going north a ways this weekend to be present as my aunt scatters my uncle's ashes.
As far as I know, he will be the only relative I've had who will have done things this way. The rest are all buried, either in body or with their ashes in an urn. My father's family, for the most part, are just over the way from where he, my mother, and ( Read more... ) -
A Guilty Man
So, at the end of the business day yesterday, the news broke that Donald Trump was being found guilty of all 34 charges levied against him in the New York City hush money fraud trial. The jury had come back at the beginning of the second day of the trial to hear some testimony re-read, and I imagine they went back and just started hammering out ( Read more... ) -
Phobias & Other Fears
I'm fairly certain that have a phobia, an irrational fear. I probably have several, but I have one I'm thinking of in particular.
The problem is, there's an element of it that is considered socially unacceptable.

Intermission Inbound
Word is starting to get around that I am taking an "intermission" this summer. This is what other areas of the world call a "sabbatical" - instead of my usual vacation time of a single five-week block, I've already taken one week of that for Darth Daughter's wedding, but I'll be taking the other four, plus a Study Leave week, plus five more weeks ( Read more... ) -
Cancer Sucks
So, the Princess of Wales has finally popped out of the gopher hole that she's been in. If you haven't seen the announcement on the news yet, you will (unless you're also in a hole somewhere). When A "Big Thing" Ends...
The other night, I watched the finale of Masters Of the Air, the miniseries based on the book that told the story of the 100th Bomb Group of the US 8th Air Force during WWII. My Tribute To Joe
As most of you have read in other posts on my Facebook page, my father-in-law, Joe, passed from this life about 48 hours ago as I start to write this; Sunday, January 21st. A Reading/Watching of "Taking Chance"
Actors can be strange creatures.
