Achtung! I would like to register my disappointment in the LA Times. The front page of tonight's edition covers the trial of Shadi Enigmar (a.k.a. Zak Gramarye), as well it should. I take umbrage, however, with the focus of the article. “Phoenix the Forger? LA's Legend Implicated in Fraud.” Tell me, why should we glorify the crimes of this ( Read more... )

zero tolerance sucks, youtube sucks, truthiness, i'm a lawyer, i'm a rock star, zak gramarye sucks

Page two. "Genius Prosecutor Reveals Crooked Attorney."

It is something, at least.

Still, you've got to admit there is some discrepancy in hiding that article on page two, after covering the front with mixed reviews of the villain in our story, ja?

Discrepancy? Phoenix Wright means a lot more to this city than a rookie prosecutor still wet behind the ears. There is your cause of imbalanced reporting.

I am very sorry to hear that your case didn't go as well as you expected, Mr. Gavin. Such a shame.

I empathize. Our embassy was only featured in front pages of the press when something quite awful happened here. Don't mistake me, America's press is wonderful and among the most free in the world, but journalists do have a taste for the sensational sometimes! So please don't take it personally.

I'm also sorry I wasn't able to witness your video.

Hopefully things will look up for you soon!

You're very kind, Herr Ambassador. I enjoyed the performance, but the aftermath left something to be desired.

Incidentally, what is the drinking age in Cohdopia?

Then I'm glad it wasn't entirely a disappointment, and that you had a good time.

As it so happens, the drinking age in Cohdopia is the same as in your native Germany! (We have many close ties with Germany, as you're no doubt aware.) Sixteen, but eighteen for distilled beverages.

Deutschland's relations with Cohdopia have always interested me, particularly in the way they handled the split nations. We have come a long way from the Achsenmächte, ja?

Maybe celebrating my so bittersweet victory on Cohdopian soil is the way to go, ja? I'll see you soon!

Yo you can chill at my place if you're looking for a drink. My dad's got a six pack in the fridge and it's not like he cares or anything.

I'll get one where it's legal.

Now let's stop talking about illegal activities. I am an honest lawyer, after all.

What a troubling case. Thank goodness for noble prosecutors such as yourself for putting crooked attorneys in their place.

Thank you, Fraulein Teneiro. I don't need to say that I was not expecting this sort of development when I took the case, but I am glad it came out sooner rather than later.

Did you do it for justice or for recognition?

der_gewinner May 2 2010, 03:55:14 UTC
A little of both. Don't we all?

But seriously, as much as the insta-fame rocks, I'm more appreciative of the opportunity to see justice prevail.

People love a good crime story. That's all there is. No use getting worked up about it, right?

Take solace in justice.
