With A Corncob Pipe and A Button Nose...

Both because I want my life to be more interesting (ie, I will make it interesting once I am forced to do things worth writing) and because I enjoy sharing my life and want to share more of the ups, I plan (and that doesn't mean it will happen, but hey) to post weekly if at all possible ( Read more... )

Oh man, I wish we could find an antique type flea market in your dream. That would be awesome. And Steph and I would totally run up and down the aisles with you. :D (And Steph doesn't like those dolls, you are right. Some of them, you have to admit, are downright creepy - like horror-movie inspiring. XD)

No ideas with Tutus, other than Princess Tutu cosplay. XD

...a $500 electric bill? I think I'd have shat my pants.

Wouldn't it? *sigh* I wish. The best I get these days is an antique consignment shop, and they all know exactly what their items are worth, and charge double. -_ ( ... )

I need to pay more attention to my dolls ;_; Hmm....I should go looking for new clothes for them. Or at least for Freya. Otherwise I might as well just sell her off. I pay more attention to the little ones than her, which is so sad.

Tutu thing. Here is my suggestion, from top to bottom: layer a few colored tank tops (like maybe red, pink, and white...something that matches yet contrasts the tutu, but something that could either be tucked in or worn untucked, depending on how you feel) with a funky jacket on top (like a denim jacket or maybe red leather(ish) ) then the tutu....maybe with leggings underneath, depending on exactly how far down the hem goes (and the leggings would want to match/contrast with the tank tops)....then some funky chunky sandals or heels on the footsies.

Tada!

You do! Once you have a doll, they CAN be such a cheap and wonderful hobby. <3 You could always try to make something that suits her?

That sounds cute for the tutu. I actually HAVE a jean jacket that I THINK (but could be wrong) Patti gave me. I just wore it the other day. It isn't something I could close over my bust, but it's even the short jacket type that was popular way back when, so maybe I could pull something off like that. Suddenly I'm imagining a colorful tank top with contrasting colorful (or white) "off the shoulder" shirt, a la the 80's. Hmmmmm. Oh, and I added pics of the tutu so people can get an idea of what I have to work with. XD

That reminds me. I still need to get my sewing machine back from my aunt >_<

But, yeah, there was a kinda 80s vibe in what I have pictured in my head for the tutu. The jacket doesn't need to close since, unless you wear it on a cold day, it's just there for design and not really warmth.

Another option is to go completely girly with it. Find a really nice red v-neck type shirt/sweater (hmm...pink or white might work since it would match the flower...but I think red would be best) then a pair of nice red pumps...or flats if you don't like heels too much. Then try to do your hair up a bit with wispy things coming down.

XD Sewing machines are important.

I may just have to do that when it gets a little warmer, and when I can scrounge up the rest of the outfit (I own, like, NO tights). *has a sad*

Ooh that could be nice too. I have some nice red sweaters. I adore red and sweaters, so yea, might work. Though most of mine are high/turtle necks. Hmmmm. I only own black shoes, though, except for this burgundy pair of no-existent-heel-pumps in a velvet that a friend gave me. I'd probably have to go with black, there. I'm sure I could work something out there, too. Thanks!

I have absolutely no idea why, but when look at that red tutu, the first thing that comes to mind is, "flame retardant jumpsuit."
