♥ Day Sixteen: Favorite mother character
Michaela Quinn. Yeah, Dr Quinn is hokey as hell but I love it anyway. It's so wholesome and earnest and full of good old-fashioned values, it makes me shudder, but I can't help it. I love Dr Mike. She's such a strong character - hell, she'd be a strong woman in any time period, but in the Old West she's doubly so.
And she comes to being a mother the hard way, adopting three motherless children with little knowledge of how to cook and care for herself, let alone children. And she makes mistakes and she messes up and she says the wrong things, but she loves them like they're her own and that counts for everything. There are times in the show when I forget for long stretches about Charlotte and her death in the pilot and where Matthew and Brian and Colleen come from.
