Our's is in October, but I thought I'd take this opportunity to share with you my all time favourite poem (though I adore Carol Ann Duffy and Wilfred Owen too).  I found it in our Poem-A-Day book when I was very young and adored it.  I've read it so many times I know it off by heart and I recite it to myself to feel... well, calm I guess.

I'm really enjoying Great Expectations,  It's way better than I thought it would be.  And I forgot how much I love Dickens - his writing style is so crafted and brilliant, and I adore his sharp humour that he works in.  If you read closely, there's this ironic humour worked into every sentence.  Oliver Twist has this in spades, but I knew the story ( Read more... )
