Ah, the Garden Inversion. I had forgotten about that. I think John is used to playing by the Berry-Thorpe Rules rather than Marble Arch, which would mean that he's used to the Garden Conversion being made redundant. It is completely valid under Marble Arch rules, though, you're right about that. Lestrade's probably grateful he forgot.
