What I've gathered so far:

- This place is called Discedo
- Some time ago it has been destroyed; how is not yet clear
- Scientists have somehow brought us here; why is not entirely clear
- People are able to speak with the scientists, but it's difficult to get them to talk

Oh, I'm just repeating what you listed there. A disturbance chip, sounds plausible...

I wonder if it's metallic and if so, what kind of sensitivity would actually pick it out...
