The concert went well last night.

We had about 80 people there,and although each piece had a small mistake in it, I think they were only noticable to those of us playing.  No one stopped, no glaringly bad wrong notes ... a good night.

Later today we have our concert, and as I had to go out and buy flowers for the soloist, the leader and wine for the conductor, I thought I would go via the venue.

Back in the mid 20th Century this was the junior school (7 - 11) ... but about 1985 they built a new one, and this was turned into a venue - small and large rooms.  The main hall seats ( Read more... )

This lunchtime I went into Bude to the first shop in the left on this picture to collect the programmes for this coming Saturdays concert. I'd typed it all up, dropped them off, and now they are collected (ready to be folded in half) before tonight's rehearsal.

When I got in last night, it was to find this waiting for me - the conductor writes up the programme notes and I type them up onto one sheet of A$ ... that's despite the fact I'm the treasurer, not the secretary!

I'm Bude orchestra's treasurer, so as I had a bill to pay I thought I would walk there and take the picture of where we have our rehearsals on a Monday Evening - Budehaven School.

Today I have spent the whole day in front of the pc - or it's felt like it.

Still, I got the orchestra accounts done, and printed for members at the AGM next week.

... I have kicked the family out (Dad wanted to do the drive in daylight) ... done the washing up after tea and now I can catch up with you all.
