Apparently she was a tiny "scrap" of a puppy ... but grew into her name as she loved getting into a muddle, and ended up looking a bit scrappy/tatty from time to time!

We are so lucky living in "The West Country" as there are a lot od free open spaces like this. Nice to see the history involved here, as well.

So pleased you are able to be with family again. Your country side is so colorful. It's just lovely.

My family had a large black mixed male dog called Blackie. Not very original. I do remember my mom would allow me to play in the yard as long as Blackie was with me. He must have had some herding dog in him. He wouldn't allow me into the road. He was one of the only dogs my mom cared about. She really didn't like dogs, but he was so protective. My first word was Dot. Dot was my grandfather's dog. My mom said from the time I could walk, I hugged every dog I got close to. Scared her no end.

We are so lucky in England - we may moan about the rain, but it does give beautiful green streets.

Mum's first dog, who died just before they married, was called Vicky. Her mum hadn't wanted a dog as she liked cats, but as her name was Victoria, Vicky was allowed to stay! However Vicky was born on 6/6/44 and her real name was Victory!!
