[Armand was sleeping fitfully, and the slight but cold touch and the whispering voice nearby penetrated his uneasy rest. He opened his eyes, blinking several times to try to clear them. And couldn't believe what he was seeing.

Considering his present problem this would be entirely too lucky to be true. Therefore, it wasn't.]

I didn't think I was dead.

"All men die, monsieur."

His fingers pressed still against the wound, the steady beat of Armand's heart may as well have been a thumping bass drum against Louis' cold flesh. Louis intook a sharp breath.

"But you are not dead yet. Have no fear, friend."

"Not today, then."

The words are automatic, because Armand still confused. He looks down at Louis's hand, as if trying to analyze the touch. But the truth is, he's trying to figure out why he can feel and hear an apparition.

"Have you come for her?"

[After speaking shortly with Armand, Louis turns to leave the infirmary believing he can slip out just unnoticed as he came in]

[Martha had been out for her two am movie nights... something that'd become a bit of a rarity of late. She'd decided to check in on the infirmary and she almost ran into Louis. Her voice was soft when she spoke so she didn't wake anyone up.]

Louis?

[After the content of Armand's brief conversation, Louis had been momentarily attentive to this thought rather then if he could escape the infirmary undetected. A woman spoke his name under her breath and he lifted his head to find the source. He knew her. The muscles in his face barely moved but the smallest of fleeting smiles came and went]

The dark lady.

[As soon as he whispered it he remembered more. A ship flying through the stars. Claudia. A city with hearts falling from the sky. Turning into his child self. Masterworld. They all ran into one, but they were there. Louis expression was one of deep and utter regret.]

Dr. Jones. I... this is death, isn't it? I know this place. I have been here before.

[Martha was a bit surprised when he called her 'The Dark Lady'. She hadn't been called that in a very long time. The words brought an unexpected smile to her lips, and she was quite glad to get the reminder of it; the last few days had been very hard. Martha took a few steps closer to Louis when he whispered the words, because it was good to know that he wasn't going to do anything like not know her and attack her. Hopefully, anyway.

She smiled to him when he called her by her name and she felt much more reassured.]

Yes, Louis, you're back on the Barge. And I'm afraid, yes, you are dead. [There was another smile, but this one was more curious.]

It's odd that you're back... Claudia just returned as well. Must be some kind of plan...

Nicki had gone to the infirmary, quietly as always, to try and get some extra plasma. He assumed the scene would be as usual, Martha was somewhere, someone was hurt. He would just slip to the side and see what he could find. That night, however, the people he was avoiding spoke before he even made it through the door. Not to him, but to someone else.
Just a word, spoken in surprise and hushed tones he could only pick up with his vampiric hearing.

Louis.

Nicki knew that name. The one screaming ‘you’re a broken mess’ right at him from that damnedable book. He could sense the other vampire, he knew he was from his type of world. Louis would have felt him too, much quicker, and much easier with the spilling anger and his youth. But Nicki only stayed for a fleeting moment. It only took that long for him to snap and leave, ideas and fury swirling around in that head of his

[Louis sensed an immortal's presence. It wasn't a new senstion on the barge however. Last time he was here the ship was teeming with immortals, a few from his own world. He could tell the being was young. Fledglings had such an immaturity to their abilities that they could not mask their presence.

He took note of this for later.]
