[Mission 101] I'm at it again

Jan 01, 2011 00:56

I finished my previous attempt at mission101 back in August with very little fanfare. I didn't even make a post about it. I learned quite a bit about myself during the experience and decided I would give it another go. Originally I wanted to start on December 1, but I had some trouble finishing up my list. I spent a lot of time on it today and I'm pretty ( Read more... )

Sure! And I was thinking of you for some of these goals (like movies and rock/pop concert) if both of us happen to have money at the same time...

Absolutely. Give me enough advance notice for big things like concerts, and I should be good. The small stuff I should start having petty cash for again in the next couple weeks, as my money situation will even out finally.

Oh hey if you still need to LEARN how to crochet to help with that goal, I can teach you.

Also, of course as we mentioned before, feel free to lmk anytime you want company making puzzles, going to movies, theatre, musicals, concerts, etc. ;)

Re: New Testament - some say that starting from Mark you'll find it easing to go 'round, some say John. The former cos it's short, the latter cos it's easiest (though the most prejudiced towards Jews because of the difficult separation into independence)

Re: stamps - that could be fun. Mine is pretty organised now, though I handle my stamps slightly barbarically by hand, not with pinchers. I've organised them by country, but I've made myself a few separate specials (scouting, for instance). Got some really old ones too. :)

I handle mine with my hands most of the time as well, but I've considered getting some decent pincers for the mint ones since it seems a shame to ruin them.

I am in a stamp club (Mystic Stamp Company) so right now they are arriving in envelopes "by country". They provided an album actually to put them in by country, with all the countries labelled on the album and even a map and a little info about each country. But I have to be lame - I don't like the "by country" ordering that much. I'd rather order them by topic (like a page of just cat stamps, a page of just car stamps, a page of just olympic stamps, etc) and write under them the country and year. But that takes a LOT of work. I just think the albums will be much prettier to look at that way.

Just popping in a little belatedly to say, good luck, and great list! I do like the graded financial penalty system and your rationale behind it.

Hey, I'd like to be on this filter if I'm not already. Awesome list! I like the idea of attaching a cost to each goal - maybe it would help me take my goals a little more seriously. That's really cool that you got all 101 things on there. I still haven't managed to complete my list, even though I'm a year into it. My list doesn't live on LJ, it's here: http://gck.typepad.com/ The one I'm having the most fun with, even though it's kind of meaningless, is Travel A-Z: http://gck.typepad.com/blog/2010/03/mission-101-v2-64.html I've threatened to drag Mike to Quilcene, Yakima, and Zillah, and he is not amused. :)

Good luck with your 1001 days! Look forward to hearing about your progress.

I'd totally go to Quebec - I've wanted to go there for a long time anyway. And Montreal, but you don't need an M.

Y and Z are a little harder, but ... Yellowstone maybe? Do parks count, or do they have to be cities?
