Mixing German and Italian

CNN is predicting that gas prices will go down a little in a week, so I'm going to skip my errands in Springfield today. I didn't realize that gas was up to $4.50 a gallon! Plus I was up late doing German homework. I have plenty of other things to do.

I'm looking at used Nissan Leafs as far as cars go, but they don't seem practical for driving to ( Read more... )

The cheapest gas stations are over $5.50 here. Outrageous. I'm hoping it'll go down soon.

I wish our prices were that low. We're paying almost double that in Germany right now. :(

You're a goer studying two different languages at the same time.

English is my only language and sometimes I falter at that :(

Gas prices in Canada are almost $2 a litre (with the exchange rate, that works out to about $6.50 USD a gallon.). I had looked at electric cars last time, but they still haven't come down much in price and the batteries will only get you about 250 miles on a charge, and with driving from here to Missouri a couple times a year, that wasn't feasible for us.

Yeah. I'd like an electric car, but it isn't practical. So now I'm looking at hybrids.

Those are gas prices we can only dream about! I looked at the prices as we passed a gas station on our way to get groceries, and it was around 2.15 Euros per liter and going up. So that's about 9.50 USD per gallon.

Wow. How can anyone afford to go anywhere?

You can either afford to pay that or you stay home, or find some other way to get from point A to point B. I feel bad for lower-income families who have a longer commute to work! I hope the government figures out a way to give these people some aid/assistance.

Back in my forgotten youth (= late Stone Age) I used to learn Russian, German and Spanish at the same time. It was an... interesting experience. Nowadays I tend to mix up my German with English when I speak with German relatives. *g*

I'd like to review French also, but I think that my head would explode :)
