My reason is this: the writers have made it up in their heads that the endgame to Clark really becoming Superman is flight and the uniform. As if this is what he really needs to be Superman.
I think you're absolutely right - but a lot of fans seem to be obsessed with those same ticky boxes: flight, suit, right girlfriend - and it makes it very easy for the writers to just give them what they want, at the expense of a hero's journey for Clark. This isn't new; by S5/6, Al & MIles were also substituting Lana for character development, but with the end closing in, I want MORE. He's not just a romantic hero.

James Marsters strolled through the doors like a BAMF. I’m crazy about men with great walks and Marsters has one of the coolest. That was one of SV coolest entrances ever, JM enjoying every second of it ( ... )

And that's my only problem. Let the fans have what they want, but what about those who also want to see Clark make those steps. To me the most important part isn't the end result (the items in the ticky boxes) but seeing Clark as he reaches those things. Now it's as if they've just gave it to him wrapped up in a bow with little to no effort on showing the work it takes to get there.

JM enjoying every second of it!

He just eats it up with a spoon. I love him on this show.

Tom pretending to be scared by a toy raccoon to make a kid happy makes me love him so much.

He's so great with kids, that big softie.

(Just in case you're in the neighbourhood & wanted a possible 5th meeting & 2nd hug from His NibsDid it, thank you :) He wasn't there which I expected from his tweets about ( ... )

It’s even the same Kara block.
Too bad Kara didn't "disintegrate" like in the comic.

SHUT UP, KARA! You don’t have a butt, your opinion doesn’t matter.
LMAO!

*I was thinking (hoping) that it was a Lady Blackhawk shout-out.
She'd the need micro skirt for that one though, wouldn't she? I always kinda hoped for a Black Hawk appearance on the show. But Lois just dressing like her could be a nice shout out.

Lois vs. Dean Winchester. Who is the best damsel in distress?
I don’t watch Supernatural no offense to Dean but Lois is a terrible damsel in distress. Even Catwoman thinks so.

I do regret not getting the "Clark lies in order to beat down Darkseid" moment.

As skimpy as they have dressed Lois in the past, this was a missed opportunity!

Even Catwoman thinks so.

Haa! Lois doesn't need help, at least from Catwoman.

I mean was that mask of hers really good enough for him not to recognizer her?

Not at all, but being SV, I assumed we were supposed to accept it just like we're supposed to accept that Clark can walk around with glasses and becomes unrecognizable or accept that Clark didn't have sex with Alicia.

True, but I think Clark prefers it when his men to quote classic literature.

Clark can overlook that because Oliver's chest makes up for his literary wit.
