My reason is this: the writers have made it up in their heads that the endgame to Clark really becoming Superman is flight and the uniform. As if this is what he really needs to be Superman.
I think you're absolutely right - but a lot of fans seem to be obsessed with those same ticky boxes: flight, suit, right girlfriend - and it makes it very easy for the writers to just give them what they want, at the expense of a hero's journey for Clark. This isn't new; by S5/6, Al & MIles were also substituting Lana for character development, but with the end closing in, I want MORE. He's not just a romantic hero.

James Marsters strolled through the doors like a BAMF. I’m crazy about men with great walks and Marsters has one of the coolest.
That was one of SV coolest entrances ever, JM enjoying every second of it!

Tom pretending to be scared by a toy raccoon to make a kid happy makes me love him so much.

*Rosenbaum's Brother's Justice premieres at the Arclight tomorrow. Don't know if he's going. (Just in case you're in the neighbourhood & wanted a possible 5th meeting & 2nd hug from His Nibs.)

And that's my only problem. Let the fans have what they want, but what about those who also want to see Clark make those steps. To me the most important part isn't the end result (the items in the ticky boxes) but seeing Clark as he reaches those things. Now it's as if they've just gave it to him wrapped up in a bow with little to no effort on showing the work it takes to get there.

He just eats it up with a spoon. I love him on this show.

He's so great with kids, that big softie.

Did it, thank you :) He wasn't there which I expected from his tweets about shooting, but still had a good time.
