doctor please, some more of these

Last night was the second Thursday that I've gone to play pickup indoor soccer.  It's been about 4 years since I even touched a ball and probably 6 since I played indoor (and the first time ever that I've pulled my hair back into a ponytail to play - did I mention I need to go out and purchase a hairbrush?  Where does one do that?).  I completely ( Read more... )

Heh... when I first read this, I thought you said "5 1/2" and I was all "Half a lesbian?" Which for some reason made me think of Joey Tribbiani.
;)

I think you can purchase hairbrushes in most major drug chains. I have one someplace but I'm not sure where it is.
Having a shaggy, messy haircut is great, cos I barely have to comb it... my cats have a good hairbrush, but I wouldn't borrow it. Eeek.

Go get 'em, tiger!

You should photoshop that icon and give Shane red hair and then she'd be you! I own no hair combing devices. Not one. I've had short hair that could be finger combed (or not) for such a long time.

My cats have a good hairbrush too, and it's a good thing 'cause they're shedding enough each day to make two entirely new cats.

NEVER ANY MICKEY ROURKE.
EVAH.

Actually, I let it grow a little bit, so it's more Sarah Conner than Shane now. (As if I could ever look that good...) But I like making those psycho little Helena Bonham Carter ponytails that just stick up in all the wrong places.

We really need to think of something we can make from cat fur to sell... how about 'revenge pillows'-- people could give them to other people they hate who are allergic?

Gah, that's too mean even for me.

Your revenge plan makes me think of the movie with Meg Ryan and Matthew Broderick where they live in an abandoned building to conspire against their exes (who are now a couple). The new guy (who loses his temper and threatens skull raping, I believe) is allergic to strawberries and she puts them in his pillowcase.

It's up to you!! mantaraggio May 9 2008, 22:40:17 UTC
Hahahahah. Oh nooooo! That's like, the worst thing ever. No lesbians in indoor soccer? What is the world coming to? (Math question: Are you counting you and your friend as the two, or were there an additional two lesbians) You better hurry up and sign up for a softball team. You must boost the lesbian count in all the city sporting events.

Just the two of us! What fun is that? Sure, some of the women are very nice, but I still can't believe it.

I'm told that the softball leagues have no trouble meeting their quotas.

Whoa, awesome! Is it 5-a-side? Do you use a 4 or 5 ball? Do you actually have kits and set teams or is it more informal? Ahh, man. I hate you!

Ok, of course I don't. :p But, I would love to have something like this around here. I think you should post match reports and pictures!

It's in a hockey rink, so the floor is big enough that we usually play 7 on 7 (with goalies - we take turns). Apparently, they play year round, except for the 3 months of the outdoor summer season. It's been the same core of women both times I've been there and we've just split up according to shirt color. About a third of them are college age with the rest of us ranging up to about 50, I'd say.

Maybe we should arrange an lj tournament somewhere. I'd travel for that.

Hell yeah, so would I. Since you have the rink, maybe we should all come to you. :D

42% gay? I think now! supersteph May 10 2008, 01:53:20 UTC
Now,I have to stand up for the one with kids. They could still be gay, you know! And maybe it was their girlfriends who bought them the rings?!? I'm really trying here:)

Hairbrush: Walmart. The only true place to buy a hairbrush. If you have no Walmart, you may have to move. May I suggest the south? We have lots of indoor soccer and outdoor softball and running groups COMPLETELY filled with lesbians. FILLED!

I think someone put something in the water up there. Or all the lesbians moved to the only true place in the world. The South. Yee-haw!

::regrets admitting this::

Also? You need to post a picture of you with your hair pulled back. I'll bet you're hotter than usual like that. My sexy brain told me to say that.

You never know, where I grew up, there were these once-a-month women's dances filled to the rooftops with women you would never see anywhere else in town, dancing and smooching each other, holding hands, etc. etc. etc. Turns out they were married women from the rural towns around the area, living double lives! And seriously, I mean it was well known that there was a major population of people coming to the city to live the queer part of their lives for one night a month. So... who knows? Maybe soccer is like the all-women's dance.

Or something.

Now who's the one that's optimistic and full of faith in humanity? ;-)

Actually a lot of people found it really annoying that the once-a-month lesbians kind of ruled the roost at these events, leaving the full-time lesbians to stew with their rum and cokes in the corners. I wasn't annoyed, though, because I hardly ever went to those dances and I also figured, if you have only the one night in a month to wave your freak flag, wave it, right?

You're right; I do have faith in humanity and shit. Oy. ::fails at cynical::

I like it the other way better... sounds like a 'united lesbians' rallying cry: when are all the women going to come out? I think now!

Yeah, excpet we'll have to change it to 51% or at least 50.01%. 42 seems so inadequate.
