dude! you're online? I'm desperate for someone to talk to. *sounds pathetic but totally doesn't care*
yeah, it is awesome. because I don't really qualify for it but I applied anyway, and I guess they didn't have enough people so they lowered the standards? heh. I'm like Pam! Wooooo!
Oh that's awesome! About the getting into the university, not the alien part. But congratulations! Will they let you have a student loan, and then once you've got a job you can pay it off?
I think I'll try to get some scholarships or something. Because if I take a loan, I'll be living the next like, 8 years thinking about how to pay it back. I should be able to cover the first year with various stipends and a part time job... HOPEFULLY. Otherwise I'll just have to live on the street or something.
I'm SO proud of you!!!! bio psych is awesome. you'll do fantastically, and you'll find a way to pay and everything, because you're so fantastic. man. I'm SO happy for you. ahhhh.
major changes in life: not really any? I don't know how far back this should go. I guess... first year ended, it was a blast. I did well in my classes etc. I work in the engineering co-op and career services office at mac. I'm living in hamilton, in my very own student rental house, with its very own bills and landlord. always fun. chris and I broke up in february, which progressively gets messier as time goes on, but it's alright because I've met a cute engineer and we're kind of dating. not enough to say we're official or anything, but yeah. it's good. nothing much else going on here... I'm much less busy during the summer, which is good. if you're free ever we should skype. usually msn will show if I'm online or not. :P
I'm so happy for you!!! (Remember all those times when I said things would get better---AND THEY DID!)
When do you start? Does Israel have any sort of student loan program? (Hopefully better than Canada's--I still have to work full time while going to school full time :/ ) Tel Aviv seems so beautiful in pictures.
No major changes in my life, I suppose--still happily with my boyfriend, still going to school for biology. I was just promoted to assistant manager at the gas station where I work. Which is good because it means better pay, but bad because it is the worst job ever (I live in a bad area and have to deal with crack and meth addicts all day). Once I get trained, I'll probably apply for an asst. manager position somewhere else. I've developed a tiny bit of a social life lately, which is nice :)
(Remember all those times when I said things would get better---AND THEY DID!) I KNOW!!! I'm sort of glad I listened, heh.
I start in November. and I'll try for some loans and scholarships but I expect I'll have to work full time, as well... and biopsych is difficult enough so it'll be... trying. But right now I refuse to think of anything practical. ^_^
Social life is good, I guess. From what I've heard, anyway. :P
Awwww, you shouldn't have worried. I'm sure there'd be huge headlines on the news if I get injured. ;)
I was sort of going for "Tel Aviv or nothing" because I just fell in love with that university from the first visit. It's hard to explain. As for the army, they give me 11,000 NIS (which is about $3,400) which I can use for tuition, for opening a business or for buying a house (as if you could buy a house with that money. more like rent a bathroom) of course they don't actually put the money in my bank account, and I can't use it for any other purpose than these ones, but 5 years after I leave the army I can get whatever's left of it in cash and do what I want with it. Not a great deal for wasting two great years of my life, I'd say.

I love how things are working us for both of us. It's about time they did, dammit.
