I am addicted to FailBlog. This is certainly the darkest thing I've seen there in a while, and I'm afraid to say that it made me crease up with laughter:
Sometimes I really wish that I was in cultural studies rather than mathematics. For example, I would be able to attend this.
Edit 31st: Metal Studies seems to be the easiest discipline in the world in which to use the word "fuck" in the title of a paper. I can't see that happening much in mathematics =o/
I left my coat on a train last night, and it hasn't been handed in. Thinking about it, in ten years of mild absent-mindedness nothing which I have accidentally left on a train has ever been returned. What's wrong with these people? I liked that jacket dammit.
Oh well, at least it wasn't my laptop. It's shopping time as soon as I get paid...
Our internet connection is mostly broken, and won't be definitely fixed until at least the 24th. We seem to get sporadic access for a few hours a day, which is allowing me to post at the moment; otherwise I'll be posting from work or from my laptop in Wetherspoons. Oh well.

Following astarael_23 and others, I've been vaguely keeping track of my leisure reading this year. I've slowed down a fair bit over the last couple of months; here's everything I've read since the previous list. ( Cut for length )
Motivated by the examples of astarael23 and bloodbeauty - who are involved in, or at least interested in, "read X number of books in one year" type challenges - I have this year been pondering the question of how much I read. Went to see My Bloody Valentine at the Apollo last night with lukecore. Pretty amazing stuff. The setlist was mostly drawn from Loveless, with a few of the non-vocal-led tracks from Isn't Anything. What surprised me, though, was that they managed to fill the Apollo two nights running. I didn't think they were that popular
