EVERYTHING IS ASUKO AND NOTHING HURTS

1: A quick plea to the flist - please, pleeeeease be careful with CYHMH spoilers. I've been saving up the last few eps to marathon them all in one go, and despite my hopes for a happy ending I'm still half-expecting some crazy last-minute tragedy. If my flist suddenly suddenly erupts in "NOOOOOOOOO" and "FAIL!" then it's pretty obvious which way ( Read more... )

life consumed by tv, believe in your self-pleasure, when the orgy writes itself, asuko march, i need a support group for this, post-traumatic drama withdrawal disorder

I don't think City Hunter is for me, though LMH is v. v. pretty. :D

I ALMOST DIED AT THE CROSSDRESSING SCENE. AND THE LET'S-PRETEND-WE'RE-NOT-YANKEES SCENE. ACTUALLY THAT WHOLE DAMN EP WAS GOLD.

"FIX YOUR HAIR!!!" And that one guy just covering his whole head with his shirt. XD AND HIROSE IN GLASSES. UM. UM. THAT WAS NICE.

See, I watched the first ep and was intrigued enough, but then my flist started posting about it and everything they loved was everything I hated (and vice versa). It makes me think I wouldn't enjoy the rest. I've absorbed a lot of spoilers through the grapevine, and where everyone else goes crazy I just think "ehhhh."

Ignoring all Asuko related things. I've only seen up to episode 5.

I understand about Shinkenger. That's how it feels each year when a Sentai ends. So feel you there.
With Shinkenger it was especially bad, I still miss it.

So what did you think of your first Sentai and will you watch more?

Definitely! Though I think I'm going into kamen riders for awhile, because 1) I never finished Kabuto and 2) I'm really interested in Den-O now that I know it has the same writer as SSS. :D

I can't even listen to the theme song without a powerful wave of notalgia. TONO-SAMA! ;___;

Yay^^
And KR is just as good, if not better imo *lol*
But Kabuto, really? XD
I liked Den-O, but my fav KRs are Blade, Agito, Kuuga and Ryuuki, in that order. Followed by Double/Faiz/Den-O/Hibiki, Kabuto/Kiva/Decade, also in that order.

Aww *pats* Have you watched the movie and the SPs yet?

Also, Gokaiger is really cool, now that you can't be spoiled about Kaoru anymore.
My second fav after Shinkenger is Dekaranger for a non airing one^^

Aw, I loved Kabuto! It was actually my first toku. I think I got all the way into the 30s before I was distracted by other dramas... though it's been so long now I'd probably need to start over to remember the plot. XD

Any particular recs for all the SSS extras? Like, is the crossover movie worth watching even though I don't know the other series?

Oh, and have you ever seen Garo? TVTropes described it as darkier and edgier. I was Intrigued.

SO, did you give Taisetsu na Koto a try or decide to preserve the remnants of your sanity for another day?

... That wasn't supposed to spur you to action...

What are you watching next season?

Hey, that was practically a dare.

There are so many things I want to watch next season. *___* I think the count is three crossdressing heroines? I WANT THEM ALL. And I'm gonna be ALL OVER the Meisa/Mikako buddy cop drama and the live-action Arakawa Under The Bridge, which is one of my favorite underrated anime. Oh, and Eita's new drama. ♥

I know I'll have to whittle it down eventually, but those are the ones I plan to check out, at least.

What about you?

Hey wolf are you planning to watch any of the airing kdramas out now? I also feel like you'd have liked Best Love since its pretty wacky and you seem to enjoy wacky. But the heroine isnt anything to write home about on the other hand. I gave it a B- myself. This one is old but it gets an A+ from me. Sungkyunkwan scandal!

Also ha i've been watching anime and reading manga again. It always goes that I dont do it for a long time and then will just one day start doing it again. I was watching lovely complex and reading gokusen. Man shin/yankumi is totally one of my top OTPs now, I mean i always knew i'd like it thats why i always meant to read the manga one day but i never expected I'd love it as much as I did. I am so sad its over now ;_; I am set to read kou kou debut next. and maybe read the lovely complex manga since i'm sure the anime left loads of stuff out. But yeah i;ll be sad when i run out of wacky shoujo/josei mangas to read. (also apparently there is a yamato nadeshiko shichihenge anime out there!)

Actually, the Hong Sisters and I sat down and had a discussion, and I agreed they could keep making dramas as long as I never had to watch them.

Man shin/yankumi is totally one of my top OTPs now

YESSSSSSSS. Oh man it makes me SO HAPPY that you've Gokusen and that you ship them because THEY ARE PERFECTION. *_________* I think you'll like Kou Kou Debut too. The heroine is awesome, at any rate.

Also I think I've pimped this to you before, but if you're in the mood for anime and you haven't yet seen Puella Magi Madoka Magica, you are missing out.

AHAHAHA. Well fair enough!

I just my favorite thing was when they first met as kids, not only is babyshin adorable but his reaction to yankumi is super adorable and yankumi is of course her crazy wonderful self even at 18. Also all the love confession from shin made me go EEEEEE. oh wolf its so tragic, i am such a girl. lol. basically shin/yankumi is my favorite and i deeply lament that the drama never went there.

I am more in the mood for manga atm. Or rather I should say shoujo manga. If I havent already seen a billion HYD adaptations and know the plot like the back of my hand, I'd have considered reading it again (even though there is alot of FAIL in the manga and the love triangle dragged waaaaay too long there) i just know any of the newer stuff, all the mangas i am reading now ended ages ago.

NAO'S MAMA IS SO AMAZING, I LOVED HER TO DEATH FOR THE WHOLE "STRING THEM BOTH ALONG" THING.

I have not watched the last episode yet, but I have been waiting for this opportunity to get a little shrill and flaily about ep. 8. THE CROSSDRESSING, OH MY GOD, WHAT, THIS SHOW DELIGHTS ME WITH ITS WAYS AND OH BOYS AND THEIR FACES.

Also, your epilogue is 100% canon. YEP.

BEST EP EVER. The crossdressing, the perfectly-seated-at-our-desks routine, ALL THEIR GOOD BOY MAKEOVERS. (I almost switched to team Tamaki just because Kaku Kento looked really nice with his hair like that.) I loved the basketball game too, it was so... subtle.

Also, everything about Nao's mom was perfect. "Become the top woman in the industry!" FUCK YEAH, YOSHINO WOMEN.

I might have wibbled hard when all the boys came forward to plead for Nao.
