I've been saving up the last few eps to marathon them all in one go, and despite my hopes for a happy ending I'm still half-expecting some crazy last-minute tragedy. I understand about Shinkenger. That's how it feels each year when a Sentai ends. So feel you there.
With Shinkenger it was especially bad, I still miss it.
So what did you think of your first Sentai and will you watch more?

I liked Den-O, but my fav KRs are Blade, Agito, Kuuga and Ryuuki, in that order. Followed by Double/Faiz/Den-O/Hibiki, Kabuto/Kiva/Decade, also in that order.

Also, Gokaiger is really cool, now that you can't be spoiled about Kaoru anymore.
My second fav after Shinkenger is Dekaranger for a non airing one^^

Any particular recs for all the SSS extras? Like, is the crossover movie worth watching even though I don't know the other series?
Oh, and have you ever seen Garo? TVTropes described it as darkier and edgier. I was Intrigued.

Kabuto was fun but it really pales in comparison to most other Kamen Riders.
Especially the earlier Heisei riders had more intricate and darker plot. So much awesome.
The vs or team-ups are always worth watching. They're pretty much the best thing there is. It doesn't really matter if you don't know the other teams. It's fun knowing both but it's completely watchable not knowing. A friend of mine somehow only watches every other year of Sentai but always the team-ups.
But basically everything's worth watching^^ the vs are just the best part of it.

If you go back a few decades it's a different story but I think you won't do that for a good while.
The first five Heisei riders are seriously dark... with people dying and characters too on occasion. But they're also seriously awesome. (okay so 2000 and 2004 are more balanced than straight dark but still anything but happy happy)
Shinkenger was more serious as Sentai goes. So is Gokaiger. In a way.
Let's just say that I wouldn't feel comfortable showing any of the first five Heisei riders to children, but especially not Ryuuki or Faiz.

Well if you like that... team-ups have double the length what with each member of two teams getting one ^^;;

Garo was my first ever Toku, which is probably an odd place to start out for them, but oh wow was/is it great! I can't wait for the movie, spin-off and the new season to start!
