But Nathan wasn't so completely absorbed in his own thoughts that he didn't notice the man ahead pause. Of course, it didn't strike him as too odd until he managed to come up beside him.
"Um? Excuse me?" He felt a little awkward at getting the attention of a stranger. "Are you alright?"

"It's been a long day," he explained, offering the other a tired smile (though still wary, it was always best to be careful). "I was hoping a trip to the library would make it better."

She strides through the door, tossing a farewell in Greg's direction. Turning back around and continuing on down the steps, she doesn't notice Nate until she's done fixing her gloves. Her face brightens immeasurably when she sees him and she rushes over.
"Nate!" As she draws near, she slows her pace, the smile turning upside down. "Oh...do you need to sit down?"
