She had her hands in her jeans pocket and was about to round the corner when she heard a girl gasp. Alice looked at her. She had dark hair, and the sort of eyes that said she had things to tell that you'd never find out. Alice's sort of person.
"Hello."

"Hi." The sentence short and clipped. There were a million and one things she wanted to ask Alice; 'where am I?', 'who are you?', 'are we both dead?', 'is the War over yet?'
Ellie, however, kept her silence.
