made to order, one Garden of Eden

Things were working well so far, with importing a garden into the Dark City. Daniel had found a place and did all the hard work, which was the mountain of paperwork. In the dark of the night, the soil was imported in from Harley's friend in Gotham. It was the finest soil around, which would provide plenty of stability for a future for the garden.

Sarah arrives a little later, dressed casually with her hair up in a kerchief. She looks eager to help with the planting. Too bad Belle couldn't come with her, but a talking plant creature would be a bit too much for the city to handle.

Thorn, who has recovered his hat by now, looks up at the mention of ice cream. Gardening is warm work in long sleeves, gloves and cap, and his appetite is beginning to return.

"Okay. Just a popsicle? Some...thing fruit." Mostly he is liking the excuse to sit up. He'd do more gardening if it wasn't so hard on his back. Sarah gets a nuzzle and he tilts his head up to kiss her properly.

[harley_is_love]

"Now now now, did someone use her evil baby powers to sweet talk some ice cream." Harley smiles, joining the others who have been watching over April while she chatted with Rat.

"Opsicle Ommy!" April points again.

"Yes dear. You have already convined Sarah. You do not need to convince me too."

Sarah returns Daniel's kiss, then takes a moment to wipe the smudge of dirt off his face. She catches Thorn's expression and grins. "I can get you something, too, Thorn. You must be warm from all the gardening." She's not going to kiss the top of his head, though. Boyfriends and babies only.

"Oh, hi, Harley." She offers the other woman a hug in greeting. "I figured something cold would be good for her teeth. Do you want anything?"

If Sarah kissed the top of his head in public, Thorn would likely curl up and die of embarrassment. As it is he only nods and smiles weakly, somewhat overwhelmed by the number of people around them.

Now that April is off his lap Schreber can clean his glasses off better. He smiles at Harley and wipes off his hands. This is one of the nicest days ever, with everybody together and a giant garden.

"See if they have any coffee flavored ice cream. Please." Harley looks like she needs a caffeine fix. More late nights with little sleep for this woman.

Giving Thorn a small smile, "It is nice to see you again."

[sarah_branigan]

"I'll look into it." She heads over to the ice-cream vendor. There's a long line, but it moves quickly. She people watches, a soft, somewhat wistful smile on her face.

[janitor_thorn]

Thorn ducks his head in a nod and smiles shyly at Harley. It's taken some measure of bravery for him to come out in this crowd, after an unnerving mental slip earlier in the week. It seems unlikely that Sarah has shared that information around, but he's feeling even more bashful than usual, just in case.

Schreber checks his glasses and puts them back on and watches Sarah in line with a little smile. "Coffee ice cream? Do... they make that?"

[harley_is_love]

"Oh. They did in Gotham." Harley forgets every now and then, that technically, she is in a dimension that is in an earlier time era.

[sarah_branigan]

Sarah comes back with two popsicles in one hand and two ice cream cones in the other. "Okay. I have an orange popsicle for April, a cherry one for Daniel... Harley, they didn't have coffee, but the ice cream man said that was a neat idea. I got you fudge ripple, is that all right? Thorn, I got you fudge ripple, too."

She beams. Frozen treats for everyone. Except she forgot herself. She wouldn't have been able to carry another treat, anyway.

[janitor_thorn]

"Th-th-thank y-ye." Thorn smiles shyly as he accepts his ice-cream cone. His appetite seems to be returning gradually, which is likely a good sign even if it means they can't keep baked goods around long.

[dr_schreber]

"Oh dear, didn't you want any...thing? You could share my popsicle." Schreber blushes once he says it because innuendo! Oops.

[harley_is_love]

"I really have to watch what I order around here," Harley takes her fudge ripple. April starts making a mess of her popsicle. "I could invent a lot of 'new' things."
