It's official, Mom's got endometrial cancer. The operation is scheduled for June 8th and this time she'll be staying at the hospital for at least 4 days. Meanwhile, I cannot help but feeling...disoriented. I've never handled a situation like this before, as none of my relatives have ever had any serious diseases, and I don't have the faintest idea

That is definitely not the news you were hoping to hear :/
I hope her surgery goes well, and really I think that the way you handle it will be okay as long as you are there when she needs you. I am sending positive thoughts your way

Wow lamento leer esto Dany, no sabía nada! Yo nunca se como reaccionar con temas de esta magnitud. Por ejemplo cuando murió mi tía abuela de cancer de pulmón hace unos meses actué como si nada y a mi mamá en cambio le re pegó porque se llevaba mucho con ella. Es díficil la verdad pero creo que con tu presencia solo basta, es lo mejor que le podes dar a una madres :) Y estoy segurísima que todo va a salir bien pero si queres hablar sabés que siempre estoy acá eh!

Y no te hagas problema por no demostrar (o no poder demostrar) lo que sentís. Como dijeron más arriba, cada uno toma estas cosas de manera diferente y las reacciones son distintas. Lo importante es que le hagas saber que estás ahí.
