The fact that the staff didn't even do cavity searches before letting the prisoners mingle in the 'fresher still surprised Darman even though he was coming to realize it was not simply the mistake of a single, foolish guard, new to the job.
All of them were this lax.
How did they know he wasn't smuggling anything to the other prisoners?
They don't, because they don't bother to even check. Idiots. Darman glanced at the guard as he stepped into the changing room, stripping down without hesitation. There was no point in being bashful about nudity - it was what he was born with, just a tool, really, that he happened to be attached to. Some of the females when he'd first found himself here had gone an interesting share of red when he first tried to disrobe in front of them, expecting the standard cavity search that never came. Obviously they'd been brought up differently
( ... )
"Hey." Azel came up beside Darman, darting a glance or two nervously around before half-shielding himself behind the other man's larger bulk. At least he couldn't be seen by one half of the room that way, anyway. Not that anyone was looking at him, or each other.
Breakfast had been very good, for a change. He'd made a friend and that cause his mood to improve significantly. "Did you ever find your friend?"
Darman was methodically scrubbing every inch of his body when Azel approached him, working his way through his hair and making sure it was clean: while Landels was relatively clean, he'd learned about the possibility of pest infestation of the body during his Kaminoan flash instruction. Better make sure he hadn't got anything from the other patients.
The clone looked up as Azel joined him and nodded his greeting. "He's still alive, surprisingly," Darman shrugged. "I saw him at breakfast."
He paused to bend his head down and rinse his cropped black hair thoroughly before leaning back and giving a kind of animal shake, sending water spraying. Darman picked up one of the sponges left out - with what he assumed was a bar of soap - and began lathering it up.
"So how was your breakfast?" Darman asked. He meant it along the same lines as learn anything new or useful but supposed it could also suit the purpose of just being polite.
"It was all right. I met someone -- Noah. Another new person." Azel said, doing much the same as Darman was; his training as a mercenary -- or rather, experience -- had allowed him to give up any semblance of modesty long ago. Especially when he had traveled with a group who mostly consisted of men, that was until Reith came along. And then things started to get complicated.
"Are we continuing from where we left off last night?" He asked, assuming that Darman wouldn't mind him tagging along again. As long as he could have a clear goal in front of him, he wouldn't fall to that darkness again.
Xemnas awoke with a start, his disorientated mind taking a moment to realize he was in bed. Not as surprised as he was yesterday, he wondered for the second time how he arrived here. What he remembered last was the chapel, observing that creature with the triangle-headed helmet going after its unfortunate victim. He never found out what that creature would do, as the next moment he awoke right here. He wondered briefly whether he had dreamed it, but the thought was dismissed as soon as it crossed his mind. The Superior looked up when the door opened, a cheerful nurse stepping inside

Axel's conversation with Naminé had been a relaxing one, melting away the stress that caked on him by the layers after Xigbar's note through a note. Truthfully enough he had more important matters to deal with in Landel's, but old habits die hard. Still, a scalding hot shower was surely to do him soon, obediently following his nurse to the Showers.
"C'mon, it's been a week. Don't you think there'd be some stubble?" The Nobody groaned to the woman, pulling off his shirt and tossing it in the hamper. Truth be told that Nobodies didn't grow, and if Axel had the sudden urge to massacre his hair it'd only grow back the next day. His nurse only sighed, offering him a washing towel before pushing him into the showers
( ... )
It seemed his subordinates liked to drop objects when he was around. Of course, Xemnas had already noticed Axel when he took the shower head next to him. Judging by the Nobody's reaction he hadn't realized he had been talking to his Superior.
Xemnas hadn't forgotten, however, about VIII's little betrayal. And of course, such a thing usually could not go unpunished. But considering the current situation he was in, there were more pressing matters at hand. Not to mention the means for a (suitable) punishment were quite lacking.
It seemed such things had to wait, for now...
"Good morning, VIII." Xemnas spoke slowly, not even sparing the Nobody in question a glance. "How...delightful to see you're here."
"This is a mental institute after all, giving supposedly unstable patients a razor wouldn't be a wise to do. I have yet to discover how one could cause injuries with toilet paper."
It was then when he finally rested his gaze on Axel, slightly smirking. He just couldn't resist pointing out what should be common sense.
After the night before Naoe couldn't help but feel a little relieved when the nurse interrupted him again to tell him it was time for him to shower. He had refused to go to lunch, preferring to spend some time sorting out his thoughts.
He couldn't help but be a little disappointed that this shower was meant for people above the age of 18. It wasn't that he wanted to see little boys naked, but he wouldn't be able to see his Kagetora-sama. The mental image of how Takaya would respond to that drew a small smirk from Naoe's face, but it was gone quickly.
He undressed and moved to cleanse himself quickly.
Ginji hadn't meant to over-sleep. He really hadn't! He hated missing breakfast. It was free food! And pretty good food at that, but this was the second time he had slept through it! He was so disappointed as he made his way to the showers. His gloom was written on his face
( ... )
"Well, hello~." Seimei purred as he came up beside Ginji in the shower, also having been seeking a space removed from others, but it seemed that was becoming a precious commodity. "Long time no see." He added, before turning on the spray and stepping underneath, raking his hair back with both hands, fingers skimming over the catlike ears.
It had been difficult to leave Ritsuka, but it was only for one part of the morning, no doubt they would be reunited at the lunch hour. He was not overly concerned; he knew the boy wouldn't stray.
"I have been well. I see you have not forgotten me, this makes me quite happy." Seimei smiled. "Although you have not sought me out and I am very sad that I did not make more of an impression the last we met."
Vergil never was a late riser, so when he awoke and the nurse had told him he had missed breakfast, Vergil began to wonder why it was he had been sleeping in so late. Of course, then came the question of how he had been brought back to his room, when he was certain that he had been on the second floor when day broke. He just took it as another Landel's mystery to try and solve later.
The nurse proceeded to guide Vergil over to the male shower area. Vergil never was one for bathing in public, though he wasn't exactly self conscious. He removed his bland uniform, taking a spot that distanced himself from most of the other people already here. A quick glance around didn't show the faces of Snake or Fox, but he did recognize the red haired man who had been in his room last night. He felt the warm water from the shower head hit him, and started to wash.
Fox found himself vaguely amused at the prospect of public showers, if only for the opportunity to make teasing comments to Snake and Otacon, however, he arrived in the showers before them, and seeing Vergil, decided for a change of plans.
It was much more obvious now how injured Fox had been, the claw marks on his shoulders were close to being completely healed, and the ones along his side and back still itched, more than that, he had plenty of older scars.
"So, has your hair always been that color?" Vergil had almost the same color hair he did, the only difference was that Fox's had a bit more of a metallic silver than bright white.
Best to start the conversation of with something innocent like that was Fox turned on the water at his own adjacent shower-head
Vergil jumped just a bit in his skin at having once again been approached from behind without him noticing. Vergil turned his head to see the familiar face of Fox. He made a mental note to be especially wary of being snuck up on by him
( ... )
It was always slightly amusing the way people jumped when he spoke. Fox knew he was always quiet when he moved around, and as such often approached without people noticing, but it was still amusing.
Fox was aware of something that appeared to occur to Vergil, and was mildly curious about what brought it on. Instead of asking, he turned his own attention to the hot water. It felt so good, it had been... it hadn't really been years, had it?
Perhaps it had been, and Fox couldn't help but let out a short, bitter laugh that he quickly cut off at Vergil's question. "Ah, just thought I'd come see you, make sure everything was alright after last night."

"Hi!" he said cheerfully. "How have you been?" He looked at Seimei with a concerned expression. "Keeping safe at night?"
