...Had the head doctor just said 'yum yum yum' as though he was addressing a building full of children? As grateful as Heath was to this place for helping to bring him back to his senses, he could stand to do without the patronizing ( ... )

Aw hell, great. Time to get locked in a little box with someone who might or might not still be totally crazy. Derek followed his nurse, ignoring whatever she was saying and pestering her with questions instead. It hardly mattered, though. Whatever he asked, he got no answers to anything. None that actually meant anything, anyway.

Well, there was room 110. Home sweet home? He sighed, running a hand through his hair, trying to figure out how he was going to deal with--

"Woah, what the hell?!" Great. Roomie was throwing food. He was not going to sleep tonight, not when he was stuck with this guy.

The entry of his roommate was sobering. Heath looked suddenly tired as he glanced up. This wasn't the best impression he could give of his supposedly improving condition. He sank down into his chair, blessedly free of any spilled food, and sighed deeply.

"Sorry about the mess." The nurses would take care of it later, he was sure. They were good at that sort of thing, and he didn't feel like dealing with it himself. "Just upset about something." And no, he didn't want to talk about it

All he needed right now was a good night's sleep (if his growling stomach would even allow for it). Maybe tomorrow morning would see him faring better. If he had to, he'd grow back into this slowly. He'd see if they were being allowed outside in the afternoon, maybe jog a few laps to work off some steam.

"Yeah, I could guess," Derek said, carefully picking his way around bits of food to get to his tray, starting in on the stuff immediately. It was okay, but he sort of missed the food he'd been getting in Japan. Especially the bread, but he wasn't quite sure how much of that had actually been real, being as how he didn't know any red bat-eared dinosaurs, and he wasn't three feet tall and purple.

"You ain't gonna go nuts on me, are ya?" He blurted out without thinking.

That was the worst.

This morning she'd gotten up foggy, but relatively sane at best. She wasn't scoping out people and trying to figure out ways to manipulate the hell out of them or twisting people around her fingers or helping sociopaths kill other people. She was just a normal person with a fucked-up head, but damn it, she was getting better. She was getting better and that son of a bitch, that asshole attorney (was he really an attorney? She made that up in her head, didn't she? Or he made it up and she rolled with it?) came up and now Linda got blasted from her happy seat.

She spent the entire fourth shift locked up in her room, alternating between raging and sobbing.

She wanted to be normal. She wanted things to be better and she said she was sorry. What the hell gave him the right to criticize her when he was locked up in the same damn asylum with her anyway? She just-... Ugh ( ... )

The talk with Junpei had been a nice one, and Bella found herself feeling slightly better about the whole Landel’s situation as she was led to her new room. The nurse in front of her was babbling about her roommate, saying what a lovely girl she was and how she was sure she would enjoy her stay with her, but she wasn’t really listening all that well. She’d nod ever now and then to make it seem like she was, though ( ... )

Her sniffles had mostly stopped by the time the nurse arrived with her new roommate, which was a plus. She didn't want to look like a total mess in front of a stranger, asylum or no. But Kate? What happened to her last roommate ( ... )

Had she been crying? Bella stared at the girl for a few minutes, feeling the awkward tension between them. And why was the girl calling herself by the name the nurse had called her?

“Oh, I’m … uh, okay. Just arrived here a few hours ago, so I’m still kind of just getting used to this whole thing.” She stared down at her food, poking at the shrimp tempura for a moment before bringing it to her mouth to nibble on quietly. After a few moments, she looked back towards Linda and frowned. “… Are you okay? Your eyes are … red.”

… Had she been given a legit crazy roommate? Augh, she didn’t want to think about it.

“Oh,” she suddenly said, putting the shrimp down so she could turn and look at Linda. “So what’s your real name?”

Well.

This was interesting.

Luxord was quite certain he'd slept in his own bed last night, thank you. There was an important day afoot with an important revealing of hands and it would be unwise to fall ahead without any rest. He most certainly went to bed with the dull, gnawing feeling of electricity in the air, having counted the seconds, half-seconds, each measure of Time as it passed by in an effort to fall into unconsciousness, awake refreshed and ready for one last game with Roxas. And yet, somehow, awakening did not find the Gambler in his chambers. The walls were almost white enough to fool him for a brief moment, but the lack of window, a second bed, and... well, any spare furniture greeting his eyes came as a surprise; The Superior never had been one for interior design and, as lacking as it was here, it was still more than what could be found in the castle ( ... )

Entering the room, Edgar found not only was his tray of food already there, but his roommate as well. Both were nice changes from the previous days, when he had to bring his own food and his roommate had been nowhere in sight, though he would have preferred the company of a lady as opposed to the other blond.

At least the other man, while a bit of a mystery himself, had been somewhat helpful during their one conversation. Even now, he seemed a bit odd as he dug through the drawers and closets. Perhaps he'd lost his kitten. "Looking for something?"

Despite the sudden intrusion, Luxord did not startle. Instead, he kept digging through the surrounding area with an air of determination before finally relenting and turning to greet who he was going to imagine was his planned partner for the moment: a blond man around the same height as he. Predisposition to facial hair as well. Did not appear to be that rude a fellow, in the very least.

Very charming, Ms. Fate. He was on to you.

Strangely enough, the man did not seem very surprised with his presence either. After spending most of his Time being encouraged not to be seen and even making many a game of it, it was... well, not entirely different, but a very nice change of pace.

"I apologize for the intrusion," he said with a polite smile. It was important to make a good first impression with the other players, after all. But most importantly... "You'd not happen to see a deck of cards about, have you?

Edgar raised an eyebrow, a little confused. "I've not seen your cards today, though I'd suspect they're with your coat. I believe that's where I saw you put them last." He'd been so short last time they'd conversed- his change to a more polite manner was a little puzzling.

"And it's not really much of an intrusion," he continued, fishing his toolkit from beneath his bed. He set it on the desk and took a seat. "I mean, I expect to see a man who has been designated as my roommate around occasionally."

Usopp had left the... interview? Debate? ... whatever he'd sparked up in the Sun Room with some hesitation, although at least he'd gotten some useful information out of it.

Unless they were both so crazy they were just making up things as they went along. Or maybe they were both totally sane and both believed themselves to be fully correct. Except that'd mean one was really a ninja with memories of, uh, ninjaing along with another guy who claimed he'd woken up from a delusion that he was...

It was a little confusing. Very confusing. Usopp knew who he was, at least, so he could let other people argue their own details out. Even if he apparently didn't remember people he'd become good friends with before, he could worry about working that out later too.

At least dinner sounded kind of good. Usopp was led out with other patients, and now he was surprised at how many there were, but tried not to gawk around. After a few turns of hallway he was in a familiarly bland room, but he hadn't noticed two beds before. Was he going to ( ... )

Allen was almost happy to be taken back to his room. The nurse still insisted on calling him "Marcus," but at least there was food waiting. He was definitely hungry, and he didn't really care what they served him. There wasn't really any such thing as bad food, after all!

As they walked back to the room (too slowly for Allen's stomach), he thought about Giovanni and what they'd spoken about. And that note on the bulletin board about worlds. What did that even mean?

Golems in the shape of humans, really. He knew the term for demon, but it wasn't the same intonation, it didn't mean the same thing. He couldn't explain that in a few quick sentences on a note, and that was a little frustrating.

He was surprised to see someone in the room when he got back. Had there been two beds before? Well, that was strange! Oh well. He could share a room just fine if he had to. He hoped that his roommate wasn't like Kanda, but most people were way nicer than Kanda.

Much as he wanted to just start eating, he didn't want to be rude. So after the ( ... )

Usopp was a little startled when someone else came into the room--not that he hadn't expected a roommate, he was just prone to being startled. But the guy seemed friendly enough, and polite too, so he managed a quick, "'m Usohh, hi," around a mouthful of shrimp before swallowing.

Figuring that wasn't enough introduction, he turned in his seat to face Allen. The shrimp weren't that good anyway, Sanji's cooking had spoiled him. "I mean, hi. I'm Usopp. Nice to meet you, too!"

He wondered if the guy's name was really Allen, or if he should have introduced himself as Terence. Usopp also wondered about the arm, but it seemed a little rude to ask how he'd gotten the arm injury right after two of them first met. Somehow, it didn't seem likely that a paw-handed Shichibukai had tapped him, too. Usopp was becoming increasingly aware that he was not just lost, but very lost. At least he had food, and aside from the insanity, people seemed to be pretty nice overall. "I just arrived here this afternoon. It's kind of a weird place to ( ... )

Allen smiled at him and went over to his own food. At least he was friendly! That was good. Friendly people were the easiest kind to have to share a room with.

"I just woke up here a couple of hours ago, too," he said, smile fading a little. "It's really strange, though. Apparently they call everyone the wrong name. I thought it was just me, but someone I met right before I came back here told me it's everyone! This place is so...strange..."

He trailed off for a minute, but with food to be had, he wasn't lost in thought for too long. It tasted fine to him! Jerry made better tempura, but he wasn't picky. It was a shame he couldn't ask for seconds, though. He could tell he was going to finish this quickly.

The plans for the evening had been set. There would be additional protection for Sakura, even if it did little to make Yue less concerned about her; in fact, it mostly just added another person for him to worry about as well. But, still, more help was better than none, and it might make Touya and Sakura feel better.

Once they reached the room Yue subsided again, allowing Yukito to examine the dinner offering with some pleasure. The other food was good, of course, but this was more familiar and he was glad to see it. He settled down at the desk and started in on his food, resolutely ignoring the way that his other self was brooding darkly over the night's plans.

Well, it had been something of a long day. Andrew couldn't say that he wasn't happy it was almost over as he was lead back to the room he shared with Yukito. He was exhausted, and his head ached unpleasantly. He was definitely ready for dinner, then bed. Even if he'd rather be sleeping at home...

He smiled and waved at his roommate in greeting before heading over to his desk. Even though the nurses had scolded him for sharing his food, well...he wasn't going to eat all of it, and Yukito always ate like he was half-starved, so. He took half of it over before settling down to eat what remained on his own plate.

Yukito brightened visibly when Ken entered, lifting a hand in a wave of sorts toward his roommate as he chewed and swallowed his latest mouthful of food. Oh, good, a distraction. Something to help keep him from paying attention to the sheer amount of gloom emanating from Yue at the moment. And? More dinner. Always welcome.

"Glad to see you're feeling better, Ken-san," he observed, once his mouth was clear enough that he could speak without being horribly impolite. "You've been sleeping a lot lately. I was worried you were sick."

"Actually, I'm feeling better than I have in a long time." Andrew smiled, glancing over at his roommate. Wondering how he'd react. Would it be as badly as Aya and Yohji had?

There was really only one way to find out.

"...it's Andrew, though. Not Ken."
