Brainiac 5 had been planning to spend some more time in the sun room in order to check up on his attempt to gather more information about the different technology levels people were familiar with and to think about what his ancestor had said to him (not to mention try and keep an eye on Peter's activities before he did something else monumentally

Soubi was first in the games room it seemed. He found a quiet spot and sat down. He fiddled with the corner of a box. He hugged his knees. He rested his head on them and sighed. There was just no chance of a break here, was there? One thing after another.
No. Maybe he'd read wrong. Maybe it was....'Seismic activities' that kio had crossed out and feared Soubi was in denial of earthquakes!
Yeah right.
Maybe Honey would help Ritsuka be a real, carefree child for a while. That would cheer Soubi up. And Ritsuka was never to know about this day. Kio might not shut up about some things, but Soubi was making sure he shut up about THIS.

Honey made sure his nurse knew he wanted to go to the games room for the last shift of the day; he'd promised Soubi after all. It'd been a little while since he'd seen the man and he hoped that everything was okay with him too.
It didn't take long for him to spot Soubi. He was sitting alone, resting maybe, but he did look kind of sad. Honey bounded over, leaving his nurse behind and climbed up next to the man. It was hard to give him a hug, sitting as he was, but Honey wrapped his arms around Soubi's knees and rested his head near the man's face.
"Oh no, I'm late for our date!" he said with a pout. "I made you wait a long time, didn't I? Don't be sad Sou-chan, I didn't mean to!"

Still, this was the next best thing.
Soubi adjusted them both quite easily and gave Honey a long hug, but his his sigh. With a practiced smile, he released Honey and looked at him.
"Not at all, I must just be a little sleepy. It's been quite a dull day, really. besides, we're still waiting for one," he winked. He hoped Ritsuka hadn't forgotten. Or decided he hated Soubi. Or found out about...seismic activities.

"I'm glad to see you! Hnnn... well maybe while we wait, we can pick what to play. What kind of games do you like Sou-chan?"

Ryuk's nurse finally relented and left him by the door of the Games Room in his Wheelie Chair.
"You wait here and maybe some nice patient will come and play with you?" she said in her sweetly stern way before leaving.
Ryuk couldn't believe they didn't trust him on his own. You batter ONE tree and suddenly you're the bad guy. If they'd just given him a goddamn apple like he'd asked.
Still. He'd had one today. Swallowed a few clumps of meat (whole) and they'd given him a nice sliced....green apple. They were sick. This was torture! No red apples and no games. Talk about hell.
Ryuk watched the people in the room everytime he could see in, craning his sore neck to find a game boy.
"Hey, hey! Come on. Someone's gotta take me in there!"

"Gotta be quick and see if there's any game boys, ok?" he ordered, thoughtlessly.

Eh, probably didn't matter.
Mori located a game boy and a few games (nothing too interesting or new, he realized), and brought them back to the stranger, holding them out to the guy. He looked pretty beat up, possibly from the scuffle last night or maybe from the day before. Whatever it was, Mori wondered why he hadn't been allowed in by himself.

Eventually, he noticed a stranger approach him, yet he only responded when the other tapped him on the shoulder with a pack of cards.
"Is that so?" he replied simply. "And why would that be?" He wasn't expected to partake in these silly games, was he?

The man was rather stern looking, with long hair and calculating eyes; the likes of which Okita hadn't seen in a long while. People everywhere here had that sharpness to their eyes, but there was something familiar here. It was the same sort of look that all men of his era had, the sort that always sought for the best opening. Okita liked that look in people. It reminded him of home.
Shuffling the cards idly, Okita divided the deck in half and held it out to the other man, smiling pleasantly. "So will you play? I'm afraid I don't know many games, but I have learned one since coming here."

So, the situation seemed rather clear-cut to Joshua. He had a week to take over the Institute, or he was going to have to fight against Minamimoto all over again. How wonderful was that? And the Reaper had tried to pretend that he was the Composer in the Game... well, hubris was most certainly his fatal flaw, and Joshua was too unflappable to be faked out by such a transparent attempt to shift initiative.
However, the problem still remained. He had few options, few contacts, little power, and no real leads. This put him at a distinct disadvantage when compared to the majority of the other patients. That, with the fact that he had fewer marketable skills, meant that he'd have to think of something. But what? For now, he walked about aimlessly, gnawing at his lip as he considered a plan of attack. What he needed was a good, gullible, well-connected person he could guilt into helping him out...

Then recognition dawned. "Ah, Sora, was it? You seem to be doing well." In one piece, which was a little bit more than his last snappish thought had been. Still, it seemed like a solution to his problems might just have presented itself. With a sigh, he added, "A little better than myself, anyway."

His thoughts were quickly drawn away from that when Joshua implied that he wasn't faring as well. Most people weren't willing to admit when things were tough for them, so chances were that the other boy really needed someone to talk to right now. Hopefully he'd be willing to open up to someone he barely knew...
"Did something happen?" Sora asked with a frown, shifting his Game Boy from one hand to the other. "Are you all right?"
