M35 (Clinic)

The intercom announcement didn't exactly make Ritsuka feel very safe. It was a blatant reference to Pandora and even if it wasn't, the message was ominous enough to send a chill down anyone's spine. Taking the notice, Ritsuka went over to the door and opened it cautiously. He didn't like the idea of forcing the Clinic on Nataku, but for now, he ( Read more... )

Klavier had no business being in a clinic other than dropping people off, visiting, or interrogating. This wasn't his element. But he had to admit he was incredibly curious when the young lady described the process she was going to use to help him. A pink glow that would cause her nose to bleed? What was she talking about?

But... it seemed like she was true to her word. Sure enough, a strange pink glow engulfed her hands. He was in complete shock, not quite understanding what was going on. He'd heard a lot of stupid theories and stories since coming here, some of which involving powers of some sort. And he wasn't about to buy into that sort of superstitious nonsense, but this... Whatever she was doing certainly looked like ( ... )

The monk sat still while she got to work. She was quick, efficient, even if the wrapping itself wasn't done with exactly the same clinical care that Hakkai might've put into it. It bound his chest enough to bring it down to a dull ache. It'd have to do.

The woman took a step back, seemingly checking the bandages, before giving one last warning. Unlike that man, she recognized that he didn't have the time or patience to lie back and wait.

"Noted."

Sanzo closed his eyes, sucked in another small breath that didn't quite go down, and pushed himself to his feet. The monk swayed a little. But he was on his feet, and it was a start. He was alive still, and he knew where he needed to go.

He gave the woman a small nod of thanks as he passed. Momo, Sanzo gave one last lingering glance, face unreadable as he unsteadily walked out.

The shinigami was unable to look up as the man passed by her in his determination to chase after whatever, whomever, had originally injured him. She simply stepped back to make sure he had more than enough room to get by her small frame. It wasn't needed, but she was afraid that even her touch would hurt him at this point.

Once he was out the door, then Momo looked up at his back just before he disappeared from sight. Drawing a deep breath, she turned her blind side toward Soma. "Shall we?"

Soma watched silently as the injured man walked out. She hadn't really treated him by any stretch of the imagination; she only hoped that the bandages would hold. It was a strange thing to feel so inadequate so soon.

As for Hinamori - Soma still wasn't sure what to think about everything, now that she actually had time to process what had just happened. Regardless of whatever those powers had done, it was hard for her to deny that they were just that - powers - and she had no idea how to react. She wasn't even sure whether the man's injuries worsening had been intentional, though the feelings practically radiating off of Hinamori made her lean strongly toward the latter. In that case, what had happened?

Hinamori's voice broke off her train of thought. Soma straightened, nodding slightly. "Yes, ma'am."

Momo nodded her head and left the Clinic, away from another place of failure. She didn't even look back, though she felt this may be the last time she ever set foot inside the place of healing. She wasn't capable of that anymore, thus she didn't belong there.
