NIGHTSHIFT 38: M21 - M30 HALLWAY

Jan 24, 2009 18:30

Finally! The doors had unlocked, and Blitzwing could go. Tonight would lack the frustrations that made the night before such an irritating exercise in futility, not least because he'd have nothing to do with the traitor at all. He also had a slightly better idea of where he was going, at least for this first stretch of the journey: it was with no ( Read more... )

Sanzo stepped out into the hallway, the sutra draped over his shoulders. The other patients were already out milling the halls. He took the moment to light a cigarette, taking a drag while he checked the Smith & Wesson over, before sliding the chamber shut.

He needed to move.

There was still the whole deal with that 'key' mentioned. The Head Doctor had made some pretty obvious hints about the basement, but Sanzo wasn't going to jump on that just yet. He couldn't be certain it wasn't another trap. He still had options. The second floor wasn't completely accounted for either, and if there was a chance of finding the fucker's hiding spot and putting him down first, then Sanzo wasn't going to pass it up.

He needed this night to check out more of the area before he went tried the basement again. Sanzo didn't trust Goku not to do something stupid. He might obey his order, but with that rebellious phase the idiot was going through, Sanzo was on a time limit. Who knew how long it'd be before the monkey decided to go on ahead?

Jiraiya waved goodbye to his roommate after changing into his clothes and picking up the two makeshift daggers that he had gotten from Renamon two nights prior. He still needed to thank her for those. That would be one thing he could do tonight.

The Sannin planned on tonight going well--it simply had to. Of course, going well in Jiraiya's definition was not getting Renamon pissed at him, to allow for a little wiggle room. Oh, and neither of them dying. Jiraiya wouldn't be surprised if they were attacked, and one of them possibly hurt, but hopefully nothing too terrible happened. That'd completely ruin the date.

But he'd rather have a bit of excitement. Always made things more interesting. Especially considering how Renamon tended to flirt more when she was in a fighting mood.

Yeah. Really needed to get his pipe back from Rude. Jeez, give a guy a knife and you'd think he'd not go after your weapon, too.

Reno felt too lazy to be the one to head over to Rude's room, but he'd said he would and it wasn't as if Rude could drag whatever explosive shit he was trying to put together over to here.

He snagged his flashlight and stepped out into the hallway, swinging the door shut behind him.

Valyn was at a loss. He didn't know what to do tonight. Raine was busy with the clinic, he was rather certain Keman was still angry with him, and Shadow...

Ancestors. He set out his mage light anyway, not knowing what else he could do. While his therapy session had evened him out some, he still hadn't funneled most of his tension into anything at all.

Maybe he could just go out and grapple with some creatures until he was exhausted....

Hijikata had said nothing more after Keman'd answered his last question, silent and thoughtful despite the fact that he did not like the way his thoughts were going. His comment about experimentation had only been a off-handed remark; most anyone would have recognized the commentary as a word-by-word plot summary of Of Course the Lambs were Silent you Bastards They were DEAD!!! taken from the back of the series' DVD cover. Yet the kid seemed...genuinely disturbed by what he'd said.

...........hn. Maybe he hadn't watched the second season?

Hijikata watched as the boy reached up and knocked.

Valyn paused in his pacing and turned to the door. He knew it was Keman, but he wondered why the dragon was here. Was he going to apologize again - legitimatgely? - or did he bring more bad news?

If it were the latter, the elven lord was rather sure he'd lose his meager dinner then and there.

"Come in, Keman," Valyn said, opening the door and peering out. Ah, Keman wasn't alone. But who in the name of the ancestors was the man with him?

Kaoru slowly woke up to the sound of the radio. He blinked a few times, trying to piece everything together. He was hugging someone, clearly his brother. But they were in a mental hospital and didn't share a room, right? They weren't home because...well, the radio.

And the, of course, he saw the blond hair in front of him and remembered. With a sigh, he tried to snuggle a little more, too tired to really wake up and realise what he was doing.

But...wait. Hikaru.

Kaoru sat up straight and shook Wofly's arm, tiredly.

Wolfram was usually a sound sleeper on a normal night. Add in some sedatives to the mixture, and a nuclear bomb could probably go off and he could have probably slept through it.

As it was, he twitched in annoyance at the shaking, whining in sleepy protest as he tried to curl back up with wherever his heat source had disappeared to.

When the movement didn't stop, he shifted reluctantly, still much more asleep than not. "'Shwah..?"

Kaoru frowned and leaned over Wolf, shaking him harder.

"Come on. I'm not leaving you here on your own all night," he sighed. He tried pulling Wolf up into a sitting position. "I'll leave you with Milord if you're too tired, ok? He's just up the next hall and he can look after you."

Hopefully he was over his kissing addiction and happy to settle with Ed.

With Kaoru's help, Wolfram managed to sit up, but the words that filtered through his brain made him whimper, and he clung to Kaoru tightly.

"N-No leave," he protested. "Please...?"

He was vaguely becoming aware of the fact that he might be moving, and he rested his head on Kaoru's shoulder.

"...Can we take the bed with us?" He tugged at the blanket underneath them, intending on at least wrapping it around him if he had to move.
