Night 37: Decontamination Room 1

[ From here. Resuming the same posting order we had in M13 until the threads break up?]Without any hesitation Homura moved into the room, his eyes quickly scanning the area as best he could in the limited light. There were no changes immediately visible from the night before, save for the repaired door that led to the next room. In fact, by all ( Read more... )

Kenren slipped into the room after Homura, peering into the darkness around them, searching for any immediate threat. They were pretty much doing the Landel's equivalent of going and poking a tiger with a big stick for the hell of it after all. Only this time running wasn't even an option. Either win or die trying; that seemed to be Homura's intention, and Kenren doubted that any of them intended to die.

His grip tightened around the hilt of his katana as he pressed forward, keeping all of his sense trained on his surroundings.

Itachi followed quickly and quietly all the way upstairs, proceeding into the room after the others with just as little fuss. He had indeed noticed the other fights as they made their way up, but he hardly had interest in such things now. This was an opportunity finally to test himself against the Institution, to show Landel (and himself) that he could not be so easily controlled.

He could sense the others' anticipation, as well. Hopefully they could be interested in a detached manner; excitement could only lead to mistakes. But so far he had no reason to distrust Homura's judgement.

Shifting his grip on the crowbar and making sure the knife was still close at hand, Itachi looked around. Nothing here that he could see, yet, but of course his vision was limited. That was one thing to be said for traveling with others.

MOMO followed the others silently, using the time to try and prepare herself for what was waiting for them. That was difficult to do since there was no way to know how many enemies they would encounter, but it was better to focus on that task instead of letting the worry get to her. And apparently there was plenty to worry about, considering it seemed they were going to be getting locked inside the room. That didn't sound like a very good idea, but MOMO trusted that Homura knew what he was doing.

Tightening her hold on her flashlight, the Prototype glanced around the room. She couldn't yet see or detect anything out of the ordinary, but she knew better than to let her guard down.

Heiji followed along, keeping his eyes peeled. But he figured that if something was going to leap out and attack them, Okita or Homura would see it first. All he had to do was wait for the call and then wail on it. Easy!

He'd never been in this room before, and apparently it required a key. Interesting. This had potential to be chock full of clues, useful items, or death and damnation. Which it was, though, had yet to be seen. But judging by the number of grunts the group consisted of, Heiji was guessing that no clue would come without a little bit of death and damnation.

The grumpy-looking guy could go first.

Heiji looked around the unfamiliar room, swinging his katana down to hang loosely at his side. He kept himself close to MOMO, taking his job very seriously, apparently. If something was going to attack, he'd be ready for it.
